• How do you license Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC product?

  We offer two licensing options for Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC:

  Commercial License (Developer License with Subscription and Priority Support)

  Our commercial license allows you to integrate Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC into commercial applications. These are the main advantages it offers:

  • You can re-distribute the Telerik Extensions as part of your application without the need to share the source code of your application
  • You will receive dedicated priority support with 24h guaranteed response time
  • You will be entitled to receive all interim releases and service updates that are made available by Telerik within 1 year from the purchase date
  • You avoid integrating Open Source components into your application

  This license is provided per developer, so you need to purchase the appropriate number of developer seats from Telerik.

  Open Source GPLv3 (Open Source License)
  You can use this option if you are building an Open Source application with a license compatible with the GPL v3.0. Among the key terms of this license is that once you distribute your application you must provide the source code to users so that they can be free to modify it for their own needs. If unsure about the suitability of this license, please, consult your legal advisor.

• Why use the GPL v3.0 for open source licensing?

  If you are using Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC Open Source GPL, you are obliged to follow the redistribution rights as stated in the GPL v3.0.

  If you have purchased a Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC Commercial License you can re-distribute the Telerik product as part of your application without the need to share the source code of your application.

• Am I entitled to free upgrades as part of my license?

  Depending on the license which you use you may be entitled to Major Version Releases only or to both Major Version Releases and Service Pack releases.

  If you have purchased a Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC Commercial License, you will be entitled to receive all Major Version Releases and corresponding Service Packs that are made available by Telerik within 1 year from the purchase date.

  If you are using Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC Open Source GPL, you will be entitled only to those Major Version Releases that Telerik makes generally available for this product.
