Metro UI Skin

You can now easily style your ASP.NET MVC applications with the look and feel of Windows 8 thanks to the new Metro UI skin officially joining the suite with Q3 2011. Currently you only have the option to use the Blue version of the Metro skin out of the box, while five more variations are available on Telerik’s Skin Sharing Portal – Green, Lime, Magenta, Orange and Red.

Enhanced Mobile Support

As usual, we continue to put effort into helping you deliver applications that leverage the latest and greatest industry trends. This is why, with touch-enabled devices gaining more and more popularity, this Q we are introducing touch and drag and drop support for our Grid, TreeView, Slider, Splitter and Window extensions.

The Extensions now use jQuery version 1.6.4

Enhancements to Existing Extensions

Chart

With Q3 2011 Telerik’s ASP.NET MVC Chart component adds two new types – Pie and Scatter. This means you now have two more options to consider when deciding how to best represent data in your applications. See demos

Both chart types are HTML5-driven and thanks to their lightweight HTML footprint and powerful SVG/VML engine, they feature truly great performance. In fact, if you are interested to see this for yourself, take a look at this performance example.

We put a little extra effort into making the new Pie Chart type really sexy, so it comes with goodies like tooltips, labels positioning and angles and smooth animations.

Grid

With Q3 2011 Telerik’s ASP.NET MVC Grid adds valuable new features like:

  • Column chooser (client show/hide API is also integrated). See demo
  • Built-in foreign-key column with dropdown editor. See demo
  • Ability to execute custom commands using command columns. See demo

Editor

Telerik’s ASP.NET MVC Editor now adds intuitive keyboard support making it more accessible to people with disabilities. See demo
