Overview

Telerik RadToolStrip for WinForms is a flexible component for implementation of tool and button strips, needed in most Windows applications. Its powerful customization capabilities and rich collection of toolbar items allow you to craft every button on the toolbar independently to either display text, image or both. The product also supports docking and shrinking for limited window space.

• Rich Collection of Toolstrip Items

  RadToolStrip items are represented as child controls in the structure of the tool strip and are very easily customized using themes and related properties. Supported tool elements are:
  

  • Buttons (RadButton)
  • Toggle buttons (RadToggleButton)
  • Dropdown buttons (RadDropDownButton and RadSplitButton)
  • Other controls such as RadComboBox, RadTextBox, etc.

• Add/Remove Buttons

  Telerik WinForms ToolStrip supports toolbar personalization via the "Add or Remove Buttons" dropdown, just like in Microsoft Office, regardless of the tool type and position.

• Docking and Floating Toolbars

  In a MS Office-like manner, different instances of RadToolStrips can be moved, docked, and rearranged by the end user at run-time to get the interface that best suits his/her working habits. Floating toolbars are also supported. The ToolStrip layout can be saved and reloaded the next time the form is opened.

• Extensive VS.NET Design-time Support

  RadToolStrip provides rich design-time support functionality making customizations and configurations very easy. Some of the key capabilities are:

  • Adding new tools on the fly by using the intuitive indicators;
  • Drag and drop of items within parent control or between controls;
  • Managing shortcuts and images;
  • Applying themes in design time and easily switching between them - the Choose Theme command in the Smart tag automatically detects the present themes;
  • Visual Style Builder, Element Hierarchy Editor, and Shape Editor productivity tools for full control over the UI.

• Appearance

  The control is shipped with a rich set of themes that allow you to easily build slick interfaces with the look-and-feel of Windows Vista, Office 2007, Outlook, etc. The themes can be easily switched using a single property.

  In addition to the built-in themes, all RadControls for WinForms come with a feature we call Theme Color Blending, which allows for tweaking the color scheme of a theme, without the need to redo the theme from scratch. The updated color scheme is applied to all Telerik WinForms controls that you are using in your application for a fresh new look.
