Overview

Telerik offers a set of container controls and accompanying labels to help you substitute the standard WinForms controls with nice-looking, extendable and themable controls that are sure to fit your application design. The available controls are RadGroupBox, RadPanel, RadScrollablePanel and RadLabel.

• RadGroupBox

  A new addition to the suite that supports footers and extended title positioning. The control offers the same functionality as the standard toolbox GroupBox, but adds extra coolness through Telerik’s remarkable styling mechanism:
  

  • Support for all themes that come with Telerik RadControls for WinForms: Office2007 Blue, Office2007 Silver, Office2007 Black, Desert, Telerik, Aqua, and Breeze
  • Support for images in the header and footer, as in the standard GroupBox container, but extended with text-to-image relations
  • Support for header positioning (Top, Right, Bottom, Left) and header alignment (Near, Center, Far)
  • In addition to the standard GroupBox style, Telerik WinForms GroupBox offers Office 2003-like style text and Footers are also supported via FooterVisibility

• RadPanel

  RadPanel is the Telerik alternative for the the standard Windows Forms panel control. Telerik WinForms Panel supports themes and transparency.

• RadLabel

  The Label control is a themable replacement for the standard label control, available in the Visual Studio toolbox. It allows you to include a label in your applications that is consistent in look and feel with the rest of the RadControls in your application. Telerik Windows Forms Panel supports HTML-like text formatting.

• RadSeparator

  The Telerik Separator is a simple component that allows for separating your forms vertically and/or horizontally. It represents a line and a shadow, both of which customizable in various ways.

• RadScrollablePanel

  RadScrollablePanel is a variation of RadPanel, but customized to support themable scrollbars. The control is composed of two RadScrollBars and a RadPanel that represents a container for other controls and provides the scrolling functionality. The control can be used exactly as a standard panel - any controls can be easily added to it with the standard Visual Studio drag-and-drop routine. It supports all Telerik Themes, but the appearance of the panel and the scrollbars can be further customized to fit your application skin theme.

• Virtualized ScrollPanel

  The Virtualized ScrollPanel provides a generalized scrolling mechanism which will help you to easily add virtualized scrolling to any RadControl element and/or layout by only defining the logical and visual items.

• HTML-like Text Support

  Since all Telerik Windows Forms labels and panels are descendants of Telerik Presentation Framework's VisualElement, they are capable of displaying rich text formatting by using standard HTML tags, such as <i>, <b>, and <u>.

• Extensive VS.NET Design-time Support

  Windows Forms Panels and Labels provide rich design-time support functionality making customizations and configurations very easy. Some of the key capabilities are:

  • Drag and drop of items within parent control or between controls;
  • Applying themes in design time and easily switching between them - the Choose Theme command in the Smart tag automatically detects the present themes;
  • Visual Style Builder, Element Hierarchy Editor, and Shape Editor productivity tools for full control over the UI.
