The latest release of Progress Developer Tools delivers a new Spreadsheet, PDF Viewer, Blazor Hybrid, design and customization tools, design system documentation, adaptability and performance features, plus .NET 8 Preview and Angular 16 support.
Let’s welcome a new release and a new chapter for the Telerik and Kendo UI product lines. With R2 2023 release, Progress empowers development teams to unlock a new level of performance, adaptability and efficiency in their projects. From streamlined UI styling and customization options to the integration of high-value components, this release is set to revolutionize the way we help developers to build successful digital experiences across all existing and emerging technologies.
Grid performance optimizations ensure that the right information is delivered without delay. With the current release, we have reduced the re-rendering of content cells to a minimum and only when necessary, resulting in a 40% faster component refresh time in our tests. We can claim that we are the fastest data grid on the market for the main use cases.
Support for .NET 8 Preview and Angular 16 gives developers a running start with the new framework’s performance improvements. Through our collaborations with partners and because of our commitment to the developer community, our products are always up to date with the latest technologies as they advance.
Blazor Hybrid official support is live! Telerik UI for Blazor-based web apps now have the exciting possibility of engaging and inclusive UI experiences on native .NET MAUI, WPF or WinForms apps. The Blazor Hybrid story has a lot of potential for app modernization in the .NET ecosystem. Learn more.
Additionally, the new Compact Grid option now provides meaningful data views on small screens by setting a single property rather than developers to do heavy coding and styling to implement it.
As part of our adaptive and responsive efforts, we have ensured mobile-friendly rendering of dropdown and picker components.
ThemeBuilder now supports Kendo UI for jQuery, Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core and MVC applications. ThemeBuilder is a web application that enables you to create your custom styles and to apply them to the UI components in your apps. With ThemeBuilder, you can create new themes, customize existing ones and organize them in projects. You are in full control of the appearance of every component while at the same time you can apply large-scale updates in seconds. To speed up the customization of your web app, the ThemeBuilder preview visualizes every style change almost instantly.
Brand-new design system documentation gives developers the information they need to ensure their UI meets styling requirements. Additionally, new customization capabilities across the board ensure that no requirement is left behind.
The newly released conversational UI for Telerik UI for .NET MAUI enables developers to bring the extremely popular chat interaction channel to cross-platform projects.
The new PDF Viewer with Kendo UI for Angular and Telerik UI for .NET MAUI helps developers display documents directly in the browser without using extra tools.
The new KendoReact Spreadsheet component gives developers the unique ability to embed Excel-like functionality in their web apps. The KendoReact team created an engine for the Spreadsheet component (which will power Spreadsheet component in Angular and Blazor in the next major release in October) and is now a pioneer team to launch it. Stay tuned for our next release in autumn.
The new HeatMap in Telerik UI for Winforms empowers developers to display values in indicative colors in a two-dimensional way. Additionally, it now comes with various built-in features such as tooltip, labels, row and column header customizations, colorizers and more.
Telerik Reporting and Report Server users can now easily convey key metrics or performance indicators by using a new Gauge report item. This dynamic and interactive element enables them to quickly assess progress, compare actual values against targets and identify areas that require attention. With its intuitive design and ability to present complex information in a concise format, the Gauge report item enhances the effectiveness of reporting tool by delivering impactful and visually appealing insights to business users.
