Engaging and inclusive digital experience across all platforms: The Progress Developer Tools R1 2023 release includes design and accessibility upgrades, deeper customizations and support for the latest frameworks to help you evolve the user experience of your app.

In R1 2023 we’ve introduced new JavaScript and .NET components, numerous features, improvements and enhancements to existing components across all Telerik and Kendo UI suites. In addition, the latest release adds improved support and integrations between reporting and design tools on one hand and the UI component libraries on the other.

Let’s Reveal a Bit of the Magic of R1 2023 and Look at Major Updates

#1: Updated UI for Blazor and Kendo UI Data Grid Now Available in Compact Mode

We have strengthened our unparalleled market leadership position with the most comprehensive Blazor, Angular and React libraries by adding new features to our flagship and best-in-class Grid component, like compact mode. This new feature perfectly addresses the need for a “dense or compact-size” grid, which renders more items by utilizing the available space.

#2: New Windows 11 Theme

With the R1 2023 release of the Telerik UI for WinForms suite, we have introduced the brand-new Windows 11 Theme. Inspired by the refreshed Windows 11 OS, the Windows 11 theme delivers a cleaner and smoother look and feel to your WinForms apps.

The team at Microsoft is well known for their eagerness to deliver the best possible user experience that we encounter every day, and with the Windows 11 theme, you will be able to easily bring it to your own apps.

#3: Telerik UI for .NET MAUI Brings 5 New Components and Grid Improvements

We have further strengthened our leadership position by continuing to expand the most comprehensive .NET MAUI suite on the market with these highly requested components: Toolbar, ImageEditor, ProgressBar, SignaturePad, Accordion. In addition, we continue evolving the .NET MAUI Grid with new functionality: Frozen/Pinned columns support.

#4: New PDFViewer in KendoReact

We have simplified the review of PDF files directly in the browser without the need to download the file first. Among the key features the KendoReact PDFViewer component provides are print and save functionality, built-in accessible and localized toolbar, and various configuration settings.

#5: Even Better Native Blazor Report Viewer with Telerik Reporting

Blazor is the natural technology choice for C# developers targeting the web. Telerik Reporting covered this technology better by building a Native Blazor Report Viewer control back in R3 2022. We implemented the viewer on top of our beloved Telerik UI for Blazor component library. It brings a fluent user experience that blends with the rest of your Blazor application using the same input controls and stylization mechanism.

With R1 2023, the Blazor Report Viewer gives more to your end users by adding infinite scroll and search through the report content, back-and-forth navigation from a drill-through report, and Tooltips interactivity.

#6: New Styling Options in ThemeBuilder

The recently launched ThemeBuilder now brings even more new styling options like: Fluent theme, support for custom metric variable and custom fonts and font icons. The evolved tool will make styling your Telerik and Kendo UI components a breeze.

#7: Support for .NET 7 Official Release and Angular 15

Through our collaboration with our partners and because of our commitment to the developer community, our products are always up to date with the latest technologies as they advance.

#8: Accessibility Improvements Across All Telerik and Kendo UI Libraries

One in six people today—or 16% of the world’s population—lives with some form of disability. In the United States, this number is 26%. Technology is an enabler, and through innovative solutions, accessible design and accessible user interfaces, it can empower all of us to experience the world with fewer limitations.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce that the latest release of all our .NET web, desktop and mobile libraries adds new design-focused UI components with built-in accessibility features. This will enable you to build user interfaces and inclusive digital experiences that are equally accessible to everyone.

Those are just some of the highlights from Telerik and Kendo UI R1 2023.
