Is there anyway you can dynamically handle width and height on Svg Tag element? I have a script where I restore down a browser and make sure charts fits to the browser window. I basically login into website and restore down browser window and add a verification element to the test as shown below:
Verify attribute 'width' has 'Same' value of '968' on 'SvgTag0'
Verify attribute 'height' has 'Same' value of '252.5' on 'SvgTag0'
Test runs fine if always the width and height is exactly same. But usually this is not the case. If you resize and then restore down the attribute values will change. Is there any way you could handle this dynamically since its always hard to restore down the browser to exact same width and height?

Thanks,
Mamata

I'm new to automated testing and would like to understand how i can use Test Studio within our development team.

So far,
I've downloaded the trial and created a simple test using Test Studio standalone. I've then exported this to Visual Studio 2010 c#.
I can load the TestProject up in visual studio and run the tests and see the output.

My question is how do i then use this project with the rest of the team of 5 developers who do not have Test Studio installed on their machines?

The cost is too much for each developer to have their own copy of Test Studio.

How i thought this type of testing would work is each developer would make bug fixes run the tests locally before checking their changes to TFS, is this not how it's meant to be used?

Regards
Zac

Hi,

Im having a problem with test studio (Trial version). i have experienced this problem before but the most recent case is the most annoying.

Over the weekend i attemted to run a test using a data source of 1000 new users, looping through testing each stage of the login procedure, the test runs fine i have run in 1 - 20 successfully, so i thought i would run a bulk import and try that, however somewhere along the way the test failed (110 - 115) and test studio seems to have stopped running the test completely.  However test studio didnt produce any results, i ran this test in a test list, and when i look at the calender there are no tests on friday, even though i started the test friday at 5:15,

Apart from this being incredibly annoying its also making it extremely hard to error check my tests.

Is there anyway to force test studio to produce results on failed tests? or does it have to run 100% of the test and the datasource to calculate any results?

Hi Team,

I have licence of telerik studio and also i m using trial version .First of all i want to update that i am using this tool from last two year without issue.Recently i am working on website which contains lot of data it contains thousands of records and site is developed in asp.net.Means Page takes 5-7 minutes to show the data.now the issue is, i have identified the drop down and text boxes and recorded successfully ,scripts (C#) file does not shows any error  but when i execute the script it gets fail and error shown is "Wait for condition has timeout" .

I have applied custom waits and all remedies provided on your site
http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/user-guide/code-samples/general/wait-for-element-to-exist-in-code.aspx

http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/user-guide/write-tests-in-code/intermediate-topics/element-identification/finding-page-elements.aspx

but did not find any solution so please look into this issue and provide us update.

Hi,

When I try to hover over some elements in my WPF application page, it is showing only the red box (no green box and the blue bubbles traversing to the parent element). It doesn't go inside the container and hence I am not able to reach the child elements. Only after reaching the child elements can I  add verification for those.

When I tried to locate in DOM the outer element which was focused in red box, I found that the DOM shown is of the home page.
I have added the snapshot of the scenario too FYR.

Please advise on how to proceed.

Thanks & Regards,
Anju

After running through a test does anyone else's caps lock turn on?
I'll even have my caps lock light off and it's typing in all caps not to mention the keys with the multiple characters will display the shifted ones.  For example, I mean to type "." and it comes out ">"

Hello,
This is the input :

<input type="hidden" name="ctl00$SampleContent$ThaiRating_RatingExtender_ClientState" id="ctl00_SampleContent_ThaiRating_RatingExtender_ClientState" value="2">

I want to find the element by id and to extract its value in a variable. How to do it?
This is my approach -> http://screencast.com/t/oplfW5f0d

I'm familiar with C# so if you have any idea how to do it with script step - OK

Apologies for re-posting here, but realized this is probably actually the right forum.

I'm trying to create web tests in Test Studio for a page which subsequently opens a new popup and opens a silverlight application inside an IFrame within that popup.

When I am recording tests in Test Studio I seem to end up with lots of duplicate root level elements, with say one individual element underneath each. This seems to cause particular problems with the IFrame holding the silverlight application and I found if I set UseQuery to false and cleared out the BaseURL and Query fields in the properties they generally combine back into one root element, which is fine. Although I seem to have to do this for every single new step I record, which is slightly annoying!

As soon as I run the tests on a different machine, additional steps are creating different root elements again and as the URL and title bar were different for that machine it seemed impossible to combine them all back into a common base at this point.

I just want it to always ignore things like the title bar, URL and query strings as these will obviously be different for each test run and each machine that the tests are worked on or run on. But all I seem to end up with is a mess of elements in this tree.

Could somebody point me in the right direction as to how to manage this element tree correctly? Because of all the duplicates it's very hard to tell what element belongs to which version of the base page or IFrame and so tests steps consistently fail and I'm not sure why. To me it seems strange that there are all these properties mapped to the machine the tests are being recorded/run on, I have bound data for things like the IP address to browse to etc. so I would expect to be able to continue writing tests or running them on any machine and it would act the same way.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.
