Enriched Mobile Testing Support for Web Apps

After adding support for test coding, record and playback of native iOS and Android apps in 2015, now it's time to enrich our mobile testing with support for web apps too. Unlike many solutions out there, Test Studio mobile testing offers both advanced record and playback (for non-tech users) and coding experience for the more technical testers/developers. It supports execution on multiple real devices through a USB or Wi-Fi connection and integrates with your CI system to help you run tests around the clock.

MobileTesting

Spoiler: Something really exciting is coming to Test Studio mobile testing. Stick around to learn more in the coming weeks.

Overhauled Coding User Experience

This release however is not all about mobile testing. There’s a lot to be said about coding tests in the new Test Studio. We’ve overhauled the coding user experience to help coding users save time and better collaborate with their non-technical counterparts:

  • Opening code behind files is way easier—code files are now much more visible and easy to access by the coding user. The overall coding experience is further enhanced with IntelliSense-like and Methods suggestions.

    CodeBehindFile

  • With the ability to add standalone code files, we further improve the collaboration between testers and testers and developers. A more technical tester (or developer) can write a certain part of a test and export it as a helper class, which can then be easily added to Test Studio’s Project View and referred to in as many code behind files as you’d like.

    StandaloneCodeFile

  • The new output window enables users to see real-life code and compilation errors as they are coding the tests, rather than waiting for the test to be executed. A big time-saver for the entire team!
