Our application has combo boxes which populate with data only after another combo box has a selection - the contents of the second combo box are dependent on the value selected in the first combo box.

This means that after I make a selection in ComboBoxA, there is a delay for ComboBoxB to populate, before it is available for selection. How do I get the test to wait until ComboBoxBis populated? I do not want a generic wait for a fixed period of time - I want the test specifically to wait until the combo box is populated (at the moment, it's trying to open the drop-down before there is data present).

Thanks,
Simon

Hi There,

Currently I'm using TestStudio_2011_1_502_Purchease. Here some questions need confirm.
1. How to do the negative verification. We are using Telerik testing a website, in the website there has images, we need to verify the images are loaded or not, currently I am using If Else, seems that works, any good solution?

2. How to handle the image verification if the screen resolution changed or change to another machine? Seems the image verification failed if screen resolution changed.

3. How to parametrize steps? Some steps I want to reuse and don't want to record all steps, could I just change the parameter?
For instance:  Step1: Pages.x2011AppleViewFull.Click(false)
                       Step2: Pages.x2011OrangeViewFull.Click(false)
you can see there almost same just x2011AppleViewFull and x2011OrangeViewFull are different, could I use Pages.(object).Click(false)?

I hope can get response quickly, because those impact our work now

Thanks
Waylon

Is it possible to verify values on graphs, charts or numeric values displayed in pop ups on pdf/csv/excel or new tabs in browser windows?
I guess it is with the browser as I can see it in the source code.

How can the browser window serving as the recording surface be limited to one session?

I am setting up our tests with building blocks, I could have:
1. login scenario
2. menu navigate scenario
3. fill in a form scenario

In order to get to 3, 1 and 2 must be run. So what would seem more natural while developing the tests (not for regular runs for which the run and drop session makes sense) is to be able to run 1, keep browser session open, run 2, stay open, and now work on recording 3. But now what happens is that in order to record 3 I need to manually do the actions of 1 and 2 from the recording surface to get to the right starting point.

I suspect I am missing something in the paradigm here and recognize the possibility that I'm asking the wrong question to solve my problem. :)

(We're evaluating WebUI which looked really promising for what we want to be doing.)

I ran into an issue that requires immediate attention. One of my colleague install trial version 2011.1.502.0 yesterday. I have been testing/evaluating your trial version 2010.3.1125.0. When my colleague tried to load test cases created by 2010.3.1125.0 with the new version, he got a message, “…it will not load in the older version however create a backup project for you…”

My question is there a way to load test cases created by an older version of Test Suite into the newer version of Test Suite and still be able to add/edit and modify the test cases before execution? Is there a work around for this?

Please let me know if you have any questions

Hello,

Is there a way I can install the 2011 version on the same machine as the 2010 version?  It doesn't appear that is possible as I get a prompt during install on whether I should upgrade my existing version to 2011.

I am one of 3 people on my team who are developing automated tests.  We all currently have the 2010 R3 version - I have the Developer while the other two have QA.  I would like to test the 2011 version with our project and tests before asking the other team members to upgrade to it.  But while I am checking it out, I need to also be able to do other work in the old version.  Also, if I upgrade, my project file and perhaps my test files get upgraded and then I don't think they can be be used by the other team members with the old version.

If I cannot do a side-by-side install, do you have any other recommendations (other than getting a separate machine) to accomplish the above?  Also, if you do not have a side-by-side install option, could you consider adding it - I am pretty sure there are other people in this situation.

Thanks,
Shashi

Hello,
Is there a way I can simulate a user clicking a button several times before the next (resulting) page is loaded? I know in most cases this doesn't make sense, however I'm trying to test a particular issue where a user clicks a button that will cause multiple requests to the server. I'm looking for a setting that this may affect, and i've tried setting the timeout to a very short time and this doesn't seem to be helping.
