I have a machine with the Test Studio run time license installed. I was able to run the regular test scripts just fine. However, when I attempted to run the performance test scripts on that machine, it failed. Any idea what may be causing it?

    Hello Maria,

I was able to successfully run a performance test list on a remote machine with only the runtime version installed. In order to help you, we will need more information about your issue. What is the error you're getting when trying to execute a performance test list? Also, please record a short video demonstrating the issue. This will help us to better understand what is happening. Jing is a free and decent screen recorder. Thanks for providing the information we need to best assist you.

When I create the Test List and select the Test List Type = "Automated", the test list runs fine on the machine with run time license only.

When I create the Test List for the same test script and select the Test List Type = "Performance", the test list fails when attempting to execute it. It pops up the security certificate in IE. I don't understand why running the same script would work for the "Automated" test list type and not work for the "Performance" test list type.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Hi Maria,

Yes there is one key difference between an automated web test and a performance test. A web test will not use our HTTP Proxy (unless you're dealing with a Silverlight application). A Performance Test will always use our HTTP Proxy in order to get accurate server/client timing information. As a result anytime you're dealing with HTTPS traffic you must install our certificate in order to overcome this security certificate error dialog.

I have the same problem with the run time. I am using runtime TestStudio 2012_2_920. The run time is sitting on XP machine. I did the install certificate. When i try to run the test after installation, it throws certificate error. When i re-reun the command line, it says certificate already installed.
    Any input?

    Thanks
    Sen

    Hello Senthil,

Unfortunately without a local repro it is impossible to say why installing the certificate doesn't work in your case. Can you please provide us with direct access to your application? If it is not possible to grant us access to your application, please take a Fiddler trace and attach it to a support ticket in a zip file. If you are unfamiliar with how to do that please refer to this short video. You can download the Fiddler application from here. A Jing video demonstrating the issue may also help us to better understand what is happening. If you feel any of this information is sensitive, you can submit a support ticket which is confidential, unlike this forum. Thank you for providing the information we need to best assist you.

I have now fun into this same issue. I tried the provided link to the certificate and got a 404. Could I get an updated link for the cert please?

    Thanks,

    Jeremiah

    Hello Jeremiah,

I am sorry that the link to our documentation is not working. I will fix the redirect by tomorrow, but in the meantime you can find the necessary information here.

    I hope that helps.
