Good Morning,
I recently downloaded the trial version of Telerik Test Studio and successfully ran the installation. For some reason, when I start Test Studio after installation, the application hangs on the main screen and simply hangs.
Has anyone else seen this issue or can anyone provide some possible options?
Thanks!

Hello Craig,
Thank you for evaluating Test Studio. Do you receive an error message or does it simply freeze on the splash screen? I suspect you have not even gotten to the activation screen since there is no machine key registered on your account.
Are you using the Standalone version of Test Studio or the Visual Studio plugin? If you use VS plugin, we have two troubleshooting guides based on scenarios where Test Studio won't launch. Please see here and here.
Can you attempt to install and run Test Studio on a different machine? What are the specs of your current problematic machine?
Kind regards,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for your quick response. I am currently using the standalone trial version of test studio.
I do not receive any error messages, the application simply hangs and becomes unresponsive once reaching the main screen. I do successfully get past the opening splash screen.
My current machine is essentially MS Vista Enterprise (32bit) with 3 gigs of ram, dual core intel processor ( Laptop ).
I haven't had a chance to try another machine yet.
Any thoughts?
Thank you again!
Craig

All set. Looks like a simple reboot took care fo the issue. Go figure :)
Thanks!

Scratch that. The application continues to hang on startup. A reboot seems to have helped momentarily, but all subsequent attempts at using the tool have failed. Again, the application is hanging on the main screen after the splash screen appears and becomes "Not Responding"....
Running as admin etc.. makes no difference.
Help! I'm trying to eval this tool!
Thanks

Hi Craig,
I'm sorry to hear the issue persists. I'd like you to follow the steps listed here to clear your WPF font cache. The article is catered towards a UI issue, however it may be applicable to your crash as well.
I'd like you to download our latest internal build and install that. That link is available on the bottom right of the "Your Account" page at www.telerik.com. It's possible there was a problem with your original installation.
Beyond that, installing on another machine is a good troubleshooting step to isolate whether the issue is machine-specific.
Best wishes,
Anthony
