Hi Jose,

Unfortunately you cannot access Test-as-Steps from different project.

We have logged a future request on this, which you can track on our public portal.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hey Boyan,

While I was wait for your answer, I tested this possible, and you can do it, if the other tests don't have steps on the GUI. My first test is print for log file and it works. But if you have an action in GUI, the test from different project will open the browser but don't do anything.

For a new version, think in a possibility of use test from other prohect :) it's very useful.

Best,

Hi Boyan,

The below link says that this we can access test as steps from multiple projects and it also says that it has been released.
Kindly let me know if this issue is resolved and where i can find the documentation for it.
We are currently using  2013.1.816.0 version of test studio.
It  would be of great help if we can access Test as steps from multiple projects.

Using NTFS Junctions you can have a directory mapped to another directory which would work around this issue. I am using a series of common tasks in my test suites that all pull from the same directory. Here's an abstraction.

"C:\Projects\Common" < All of my common tests are stored here

"C\Projects\HelloWorld\Common\" < Is pointing to the above folder using a junction.
"C\Projects\GoodbyeWorld\Common\" < Also pointing to the same folder

This makes it easy to reuse and maintain common tests among your different testing projects.

Hi Beth,

Thank you for contacting us.

Do you meant this feature?

Unfortunately I cannot give any ETA about this. I hope it will be implemented as soon as possible.

Could you please give us more detailed information about your scenario so we can give you some workaround?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yes, that is the feature I was referring to.  Currently, we don't have all of our UI tests included in one project so we are dealing with maintaining duplicate common tests.  Now we are planning to move them all under one project and use folders but I wanted to check to make sure this feature was not about to be released before going through this restructure.   I may also try the workaround submitted by another user to us NTFS junctions.

Thank you.

Beth.
