What is the best way to do this?

I could type Control A then hit backspace then type.

I was wondering if there is a better way?

Hello Zachary Pozzi,

If this is an ordinary text box then you don't need to do anything special. Our Silverlight "Type text" test step automatically blanks out the text box then types into it the new text. I've attached a simple sample test that runs against our demo website that demonstrates this feature.

Kind regards,
