I have recorded some tests and created a test list based on this. When I run this list on my virtual server by logging in via RDC everything is good untill I close my RDC window (not kill the session) just close the RDC window, the tests seem to stop immediately.

I am running these tests on IE browser. What should I do to avoid this problem?

Hi Neeraj,

With the feedback you are describing, this is considered normal for when using RDC. The type of feature-set you are looking for would be available in a VNC application (Virtual Network Connection).

The main distinction is that RDC needs the window open for the Interactive Desktop to remain present. When you close the window, it is the same as "Locking" the computer (windows+L) if you were locally at the server. If you want to continue using RDC, you'll have to keep the window open when running your virtual server.

Many of our customers have worked around this behavior by instead using a VNC software. If you do a quick google for VNC (or for Virtual Network Connection) you should find a few products available (free and paid) to choose from. While we cannot recommend a specific one, we can definitely suggest you look into using this type of software instead. The reason is that this software virtualizes all aspects of the virtual machine (down to the video card). The main difference you will see is that when you close the window when using VNC, your connection to the Virtual Server will stay open (not "locked" like you are seeing in RDC).

Please let us know if you need further explanation on the above data.

Best wishes,
