Hello,
I am trying my hands on Web UI Test studio with automating launch and logging in to SharePoint site on development environment which pops up login dialog box to enter user's credentials.
When I hit the URL in the design canvas browser instance I am getting res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm#http://mysite/
I guess its something to do with configurations for Proxy? I am able to access, record internet sites like google or anyother but not the test site which is on intranet where in URL is masked with IP routing in Hosts file.
Appreciated, your help on this.
Thanks
Atul

Hi Atul,
Thanks for the post and your trial of WebUI Test Studio. Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce the problem with either a URL masked by the Hosts file or a Login Dialog like in this link.
Just to verifiy, do you have a proxy running internally for your Sharepoint site? If so, is the proxy required to access the site? If it's not required, can you try to access the site without a proxy configured for WebUI?

Thanks for your revert Nelson.
I dont have any proxy configured for accessing Sharepoint but SharePoint Server is on virtualized environment and so I have put entry into Hosts file like
192.168.1.2 http://mySharePointSite.Test
Can you please elaborate on how to configure proxy settings for WebUI? This will make sure if i am missing something on config. Side.
Thanks
Atul

Hi again Atul,
So you wouldn't need configure a proxy with WebUI. Just to confirm, is this happening in either the QA or Dev edition release earlier this week on Monday (version 2010.1.4.12)? Or was this a previous version of WebUI?
And if it's in a previous version of WebUI, was this happening in the embedded Visual Studio Recording Window? If it's happening there, please try the stand alone IE Recording Window described in this video.
If it is one of the latest WebUI versions, jus to confim, navigating to the Sharepoint site manually in a stand alone IE instance? Also, could you try removing the Host file mapping and try navigating using just the IP address in WebUI?
Best wishes,
Nelson

Hello again Atul,
(I edited this post because I realized it is probably not completely relevant to you situation. I apologize for that, it's my mistake)
So from my previous post, I mentioned the older WebUI version had a hosted IE Recording Window in Visual Studio. That hosted Recording Window is where I used to see problems like the one you mentioned.
The newest WebUI Test Studio versions only record in a full IE browser instance and recording here usually fixed problems like you mentioned since the IE recording instance acts like a standalone IE instance. If you have not already tried the new versions, you can try them out here.

I’ve mentioned this before to other customer, but if you do upgrade, please uninstall Design Canvas from the Art Of Test Design Canvas Start Menu uninstall shortcut (Sorry if I’m being redundant, but customers are having side-by-side installation issues).
But in any case, please let me know if we can have a live meeting to try to resolve this.
Best wishes,
