Hello Rahul,

Please, note that image verification is an available feature if using IE browser and for WPF application automation. It is fully supported in the latest available version of the product as well.

Would you provide further information on the problem to be able to investigate it, please?

Best Regards,

Hi Nikolay,

Thanks for resolving this issue. Yes, Image verification feature is coming on IE browser. It is not coming on Chrome.

Image verification recording - is it still only available in Internet Explorer? It seems from recent releases that some of the image functionality has been enhanced and added for other browsers at least partially (e.g. backup search). It seems I can still not add image verification in Chrome - is this expected? If yes - is support for this on the road map? I can verify existing images recorded in IE - but the difference between them is very large - currently about 70% difference in tolerance. I was hoping to record IE specific images, and Chrome specific images.

Hello Michael,

You are right that Image verification steps is available only in Internet Explorer. That said, we are working on enhancing this feature for all browsers and also adding some additional functionality. It is part of our roadmap for 2020 and is expected to go out around September, if everything is according to plan.

You can utilize the available image search, which is part of the element find logic, and use the recorded image to find the target element. If Test Studio is able to find the element and execute the test step successfully, it means that the image is there and matches the specified tolerance. Each test step has the option SearchByImageFirst and if you set it to true, it will force the execution to try to find the target element by its image. If that logic fails, it will fall back to the find expression.

I hope the above details are helpful and you can hopefully expect the extended feature later this year. Please do not hesitate to contact us again, if you have follow up questions.
