My company has been using Test Studio for automated web testing and I am trying to create some Manual test scripts. However, when I load into the project, add a Manual Test and attempt to open the Manual Test, the application simply closes without warning. This was happening in 2016 and still happens since upgrading to 2018. There's nothing in the event viewer to suggest a crash, am I simply misunderstanding how to write manual tests?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hell Darren,

Thank you for contacting us.

I was able to create a manual test and to add and execute test steps using the latest product version (2018.1.130). Would you provide further details on this case please:

 - Can you create a sample project, add manual test and work with it normally?
 - If so, it seems that the problem is related to the project you are working on. Can you provide that project to investigate further the problem?
 - Please, enable/clear the application log reproduce the problem and send us the log.
 - If the problem is reproduced on each new project you create, can you try to use another machine to reproduce?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

Hi Nikolay,

The project is very basic, it literally only contains the manual test at this point. I also included the log.

If I double-click or right-click open the program closes.

Many thanks,

Darren

Hi Darren,

Thank you for the project and log provided.

The log indicates that the problem seems to be related to the OS or current .Net version you are using. Can you try to use another machine to verify that?

I did open, record and execute exception free this manual test on our side.

Hi Nikolay,

My colleague can indeed open the project correctly, I shall raise with our IT department.

Thanks

Darren
