Hi Everyone,

My organisation has recently purchased Telerik Test Studio for Automation, Load and Performance testing purposes. I have started to mess around with it, but found that when I try to record via Chrome, the Telerik extension crashes.

My browser is managed by my organisation, so I'm not sure if this is the issue, and I potentially need to get them to add Telerik to a whitelist.

Could anyone advise if they've had the same issue? If not, do you think because of my organisation restricting the browser, this could be the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Nick

Hello Jennifer,

Thank you for sharing details about the encountered misbehavior - these are really helpful.

As you suggested - most probably the crash of the extension is related to some specific company settings and restrictions. So, you could contact the IT administrations on your end to check with them about the whitelist or any other configuration which will allow you to use the Chrome extension.

But! From Test Studio perspective you can use the Chrome and Edge browsers without the need of extension. Please, check if this configuration will work on your end.

I will appreciate if you follow up on the case.  Thank you for your cooperation once again.

Regards,
Elena

Hi Elena,

I have tried using Chrome and Edge without the extension, but I get different behaviors from both:

Chrome: When you select the browser and URL, it closes down Test Studio completely and doesn't load the browser. I then have to re-launch Test Studio

Edge: The browser launches, but doesn't load the URL, and closes down the software so I have to re-launch

I will make inquiries at my organisation to try and get this resolved.

Thanks

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for following up on this thread.

Lately I've heard from other customers about similar behavior - like that what you describe when trying to record with the different browsers and modes. What I have as feedback so far is that initially the troubles were related to the company managed browser. Once the browser was changed to its regular installation, the Test Studio tests started working as expected.

I hope that this note can as well help you in identifying what causes the misbehavior. Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

Regards,
Elena
