Hello Telerik Team,

I am in evaluation period. Before we buy the production I need to ask and learn some informations.

-Is the Test Studio logging/showing the Javascript errors in a way?
-How is the errors reported? What king of informations does the reports include?
-Can we verify with Test Studio like "Page B must come after Page A" ?

We will decide to buy the product related to these questions.

Thank you already for your answers.

Hi Esin,

Thank you for taking the time to evaluate Test Studio for your test automation needs.

1) Test Studio does not show JavaScript errors. It has no way of tapping into the JavaScript engine and catching those errors. It can execute specific JavaScript, just not catch the errors coming from JavaScript.

2) See item 1

3) Before I can answer this I need to better understand what type of application you are testing (HTML, Silverlight, WPF) and how these pages are displayed in your application. Are these pages displayed all at once in the UI? If not how to you view these pages?

Hi Coddy,

We have web applications using ASP.Net, Devexpress and Bootstrap components. There are different pages for different functions. We can click and pass every single pages individually. But In some cases we need to follow a page order. Can we verify the page order with Test Studio?

Thank you.

Hi Esin,

I'm not sure. I think I need to see your application in action to fully understand how it works. Since I can't give you a clear Yes/No answer yet, I'll try to explain what verifications Test Studio is able to perform.
  • You can verify what the current URL is
  • You can verify an element exists or does not exist on the current page
  • You can verify an element is visible or not visible on the current page
  • You can verify some specific text is present on the current page
  • You can verify what the value is for any property of any element on the current page

Test Studio doesn't really understand the concept of a "page". It can only verify specific elements, their properties, cookies and the what the current URL is. Given that can you think of a way to "verify the page order"?
