Hi,
  I'm looking for a tool to automate silverlight components in the web applications. I'm going to evaluate WebUI Test QA Edition. I have couple of queries.

1. Does WebUI Test QA edition support stand-alone application? If yes, what are the technologies are supported?
2. Do I need to install VSTS to develop custom code in C# or VB.NET?
3. Is there any ready-made framework available (Like Keyword driven framework or http://www.open2test.org/)?

Hello Palani,

1. WebUI Test Studio supports any web based application that generates HTML to the browser. In addition, we also support Silverlight applications (both in browser and out of browser).

2. No, our QA Edition is a stand-alone application that does not require VSTS, just the .NET framework 3.5 SP1+. With our QA Edition, you have the ability to right-click and convert any step to code in either C# or VB.net. The code editor is inside the QA Edition thus VSTS is not required.

3. WebUI is based on the WebAii framework, so your coded steps can utilize the power of both the .NET framework as well as the WebAii framework.
