You can actually achieve the same net effect with the right setup. It requires two computers:
Computer A - Has full Test Studio installed on it. No Scheduling or Storage server.
Computer B - Has either full Test Studio or Run-time edition installed on it. I recommend installing Run-time edition because it's much
cheaper and provides all the functionality you need for scheduled tests. This machine is setup with Scheduling and Storage and Execution server
all installed and running on it.
Connect your test project to this remote scheduling server. Now when you schedule a test list it will run on this remote machine which should be running 24 x 7. You can now shutdown your local desktop/laptop, go home and the test will run at the scheduled time. If you set it up right you will get an email with the results. You can also start Test Studio back up, go to the Results tab and fetch the results from the remote storage service (results of the test run are pushed and save in our storage service).
Of course there are many steps to getting this all setup and running properly, but this gives you the high level view how it will work.
