My test has a pdf pop up, the URL for the pop up changes once the pop up loads. The test executes a connect to pop up 'xxxxxurl' and the next step is close pop up 'yyyyyurl' but it fails on the connect step because once it loads the url is 'yyyyyurl' and not 'xxxxxurl'. I have changed the url from 'xxxxxurl' to 'yyyyyurl' for the connect step but this also fails because during load the url is 'xxxxxurl'. Is there any other way to connect to pdf pop ups and close them?

Hi darren,

To assist you troubleshoot this problem we need two additional items from you:

1) A copy of the failing test (place the .tstest/.aii and .resx and .cs/.vb files into a .zip and attach the .zip file)
2) A video demonstrating the test failing. Jing is a good free screen recorder.

Hello Darren,
    the difference in the URLs is probably the queries. You're "ConnetToPopUp" and "ClosePopUp" steps are already set to "isPartialURL". This means that you can edit the URL so that the query part of the URL is omitted. I've edited your test in this way and I've attached it to this post. Try running it - it should run flawlessly now.

can you please list the steps I need to take as I can not open the attachment?

Hello Darren,

I have reattached the file in .zip format. You should have no trouble opening it.

I have also attached a screen shot of the test steps. Please see the changes made to steps 15 and 16. Simply double click each step and modify the URL to match what is shown in the screen shot.

In summary, either load the test files in the .zip file with the changes already made, or make the changes yourself by following the screen shot.

Thanks. I have extracted your files and replaced them in my test but still the same problem I am afraid. Once again I have attempted various fixes such has changing the connect url to that of the close, also increased time outs but still it will not connect to the pdf.

I am very sorry but Iwill not be able to make this meeting. However, I may have found a way around the problem within the config of the system I am testing. Should I require further assistance I shall raise a new thread.
