Hi,

I'm having a problem with the Execution server.  It is giving me an error and it is unable to start.  It gives the log in the picture.

Also the Execution Server does not show up in the list of execution machines within the standalone.

I've got the same problem when I start Test Studio 2013.
Config Storage while installation Test Studio: localhost\SQLEXPRESS
Storage service connection settings:
HostName/IP: localhost
port: 8492
Connection ends success and service URL generated by Test Studio is: http://localhost:8009
It doesn't matter which port i Use: 8009 or 8492. Execution server doesn't run correctly (Firewall is turn off).

I try to connect scheduling in Test Studio and select 'Run locally' or 'Run Remotely' and when I click OK button, there is still no one machine appears in 'Execution Machines Manager'.

Hello Doug,

Sorry to hear that you've run into this issue. Has the scheduling server ever worked? If you installed using an upgrade installation and this is your first time attempting to start the execution server, go ahead and re-run the installer to remove the current version. Then install the run time license through a fresh installation.

If you  continue to have issues, we will need more information about your environment. Are you configuring this machine as a scheduling and execution server? What scheduling server address are you connecting to? If you haven't already, try connecting to your scheduling server using the server's ip address. Have you verified that both port 5555 and 8009 are open?

Please take a screenshot of your Test Runner's configuration and attach it to your support ticket. If any of the information is private, let me know and I can convert this post to a private support ticket.

Regards,
Rodney

Hi folks,
For what its worth I have had the same issues with the latest version of Test Studio on the Trial version, it turns out that the services necessary are no longer in the Trial version, Telerik sent me a different version that included options to enable the Storage and Scheduling Services necessary to connect to the remote host profiler.

Actually I am still in trouble with mine, the Scheduling service will not start and keeps telling me that I don't have the correct permissions. I can manually start the Storage service which the scheduling service is dependant on but the scheduling service still refuses to start.

Also have you opened the port 8010 for inbound and outbound on your firewalls?

Hope that this helps.
-=Nick.

@Nick

Ticketed the scheduling server not starting earlier and was given the following instructions. Hope they help.

  1. Run your current version’s installer. Select “Remove” from the list of installation options
  2. Once Test Studio has been successfully uninstalled, navigate to and remove the contents of the C:\ProgramData\Telerik\ConfigsDirectory
  3. Run the 2013.1 installer (remember to customize and enable services)

You should now have version 2013.1 installed and your scheduling service should be functional. Please let me know if you continue to have issues.

Hi Nick,

Robert is correct. Here is an article from our documentation that outlines the process.

Let me know if you continue to have issues.

Hi Folks,
I have followed the instructions below a few times, and even removed the directories completely and rebooted my PC before doing the install but it still fails to start the services. I tried to use a different database name and I test each time that it can be accessed correctly.

I am beginning to think that the version of software that I have could be incorrect. I am using 2013.1.806.0
To try to help resolve this I have taken a few screen shots of my install in case it helps. Please find attached.

I am sure there is just something simple that is impeding my progress.

By The Way, I have tried this on my local PC and on our remote Test Server and get the same error each time.

Thanks and kind regards.

Hello Nick,

Thanks for the update. We have a newer build than the one you're using. Go through the process of removing the contents of the C:\ProgramData\Telerik\Configs directory again, but this time install our latest internal build from your Telerik account. The version number is
2013.1.827. To access the build you'll need to log in and go to the following address:

Let us know if you continue to have issues.

Thank you for getting back to me in the meantime.

Kind Regards.

Hi Chris,

Please note that you are referring to a forum post which is almost four years old and any solution applied then might not be useful for the current versions of Test Studio.

Please share details about the issue you currently face so that we could provide a proper advice how to proceed.

Thanks in advance for your understanding!
