Hi,

My web app is fully with Silverlight components. Few screens has custom combo boxes. I have recorded the scenario and it is getting failed always, while playback.

How can I automate these type of controls with webUI?

I'm using the internal build 2010.2.927

Thanks,
Palani.

Hello Palani,

Can you share with us the exact failure from the test log on execution? Does it work fine during recording?

Kind regards,

Hi,
The steps are not recorded properly for combobox selection..

I hope that it might be custom combo box. WebUI is able to highlight the list item which is shown after clicking drop down. But it is not recorded. Please see the attached results and it is not recorded.

Thanks,
Palani

Hi Palani,

Thank you for sending us the error you are getting. We looked at the error and believe it is a bug somewhere within our code. In order for us to find and fix this problem we need to be able to repro this problem in house in our development environment. Is it possible for us to access your website so we can see this problem first hand? Or would it be possible for your developers to create a small Silverlight application using your custom combobox that demonstrates this problem that you can send to us for evaluation?

Best wishes,
Cody

Hi,
I am unable to share the application at this moment. We can have a web meeting, if it helps to you to solve the issue.

Thanks,
Palani.

Hello Palani,

I appreciate the offer for doing a web meeting for this problem. Unfortunately a web meeting isn't quite adequate for our needs. Our developers must be able to reproduce this problem in our source code development environment so they can track down the source of the leak in our code and fix it. This is something we just can't do in a web meeting.

The only way we can find and fix this bug is if either:

  • We have direct access to your application that has been loaded on a web server we can access or
  • Your developers can create a small sample Silverlight application that you can send to us that we can use to reproduce this problem.
Believe me we very much want to find and fix this bug for you (and our other customers) but we absolutely must be able to reproduce this problem in house.

Kind regards,
Cody
