Using data driven variables in a logical step

Hi,

I have found that it is possible to use data binding in a varification step, then convert the step to an IF statement.  This works as expected.

However if you try to add data binding to an IF statement, or change the data binding, there is no option to do so.

I consider this to be a bug.

See step 16 of the attached test which does not allow a user to set a data binding.  Steps 8 and 23 had the data binding set before converting to logical.

Thank you for evaluating Test Studio.

You can change/add data source to a verification step in an IF statement. Please go to the properties of the IF step, which includes a verification step. The last option in the properties is "Verification" this is the options for the verification step. There you can change/add data source to it.

I recorded a short video to demonstrate how this works.

Thanks for the clarification.

It appears in the video that you don't actually set the data binding.  When I do this I get an error dialog appear.  See attached video.

[Edit] Your forum doesn't have the ability to delete attachments, the video titled "IF Statement Data Binding Bug" is the best.  Note that this file is a .exe, but all it does is run a video player.

Yes you are right. Test Studio really crashes after changing the verification's data source. I logged a bug which you can track here: Public URL.

A temporary workaround here is to create a new verification with the new data source and add it to the if step.
