Hi,

While doing a performance test on webpage using https protocol i see many methods of with Name/Type as 'Unknown' and method 'Connect', could you help me what this object is?

Also, what is the receiving time - is it page rendering time in browser? Is there anyway to further detail the receiving time?

Thanks,
Aswin

Hello Aswin,

Thank you for contacting us.

Under Type/Method section, there are all requests to the web server. For example Name: jQueryScript, Type: text/javascript and Method GET. Test Studio just monitors what web server returns to your browser and displays it.

Connect method is reserved for use with tunnelling (e.g. SSL) via a proxy server.

A MIME type that is neither known nor ambiguous is termed unknown.

Regarding the receiving time, where do you see that column? Please send us a screen shot or the steps, so we can get to that value. In the details view there are Server Time and TTFB (Time to first byte).

Server Time is the total time that it takes to the server to send you the data within the particular request.

TTFB is a measurement that is often used as an indication of the responsiveness of a webserver or other network resources.

It is the duration from the virtual user making an HTTP request to the first byte of the page being received by the browser.

Hope this helps.
