I am creating a wpf test for my wpf application in test studio. The behavior of test studio is different at different times. I am able to record the same scenario by chance only. Most of the times when i try to record the same scenario it crashes.

Can anyone please let me know whats happening here?

Hello Mehwish,

Thank you for contacting us.

The misbehavior you reported seems to be very inconsistent. The shared exception in the failure information does not point to anything specific. Therefore I would need your further assistance. Since the issue occurs while recording we will require the application under test to debug in our environment - is there any possibility to provide us the application or a sample one?

You have selected Test Studio 2014.3 903 version when submitting the ticket – is that the correct version you are using? If, yes, please update to the latest version of Test Studio which is R2 2018 (v. 2018.2.606) and let us know if you still observe the same misbehavior.

Thank you for cooperating in advance!

Regards,
Vera

Hello Rajkumar,

From the provided information I can say the issue might be coming from conflicts between the new version of Test Studio and an older one installed on your machine. I would recommend that you do a clean installation of the product, which means to uninstall all versions that you currently have on your machine and also, delete the settings folder (%appdata%\ArtOfTest) to ensure that any old settings are completely removed. This should prevent any future incompatibilities and you can safely install the latest version of Test Studio.

Please give the suggested above a try and let me know what is the outcome.

Regards,
Vera
