Support for testing SharePoint applications

I have noticed that neither Microsoft nor Telerik seems to have a testing framework suitable for testing SharePoint applications either in the browser or out of the browser--particularly things such as InfoPath Forms.

It would be great if Telerik Test Studio were to offer testing for SharePoint applications as well as InfoPath Forms since we have largely had to rely on manual test cases for our SharePoint applications thus far.  Being able to automate the regression testing of our applications within the SharePoint framework would benefit us tremendously.

Are there any current or future plans to offer this functionality?

Hi Samir,
   a SharePoint server is a backed implementation. Test Studio is only concerned with the front-end of an application. As long as the UI of your application is based on HTML/Silverlight/WPF Test Studio will be able to automate it. It doesn't matter what technology the application is actually based on.

So since InfoPath Forms (running in InfoPath 2010 Client) fits into none of the HTML/WPF/Silverlight categories, Telerik Test Studio will not be able to support it?

If so, can I request a feature enhancement to support testing of InfoPath Forms in the InfoPath 2010 client?

Hello Samir,
I'm not sure what techonogly InfoPath Forms (running in InfoPath 2010 Client) is based on therefore I cannot answer your question 100% accurately.

I believe it's probably Win Forms based but I simply not sure since I'm not at all familiar with it. If its is in fact Win Forms, then this has been already logged as a Feature Request.

I believe that InfoPath Forms is completely segregate from any other .Net technology.  The way in which you access InfoPath elements in code behind is completely dependent on XML XPath queries.  You cannot access the controls on the screen through any conventional .Net methods as in WinForms or ASP.Net Web Forms.

Therefore, InfoPath Forms would have to be specially added for support into Test Studio.
