Hello,

I have a general enquiry.

I need to know whether it is at all possible to resolve an Image verfication failure.

I am currently trialling Test Studio v2011.2.1413.0.

Also, I have noticed that when I open the Failed test step and the Step Failure Details page opens that I cannot see the Resolve Failure tab.  How do I activate this so that it displays?

Cheers

Hello Shane,

First, please review our article on Image Verification.

The Resolve Failure tab is not available in the case of a failed image verification. It's present for Unable to Locate Element failures and for failed verifications that can be resolved via the Sentence Builder (the same seen in the Advanced Verification dialog). An example in that case would be a failed verification on the text content of an element.

Resolving an image verification failure is done by referencing the percent difference on the Failure tab, then visually confirming the discrepancy between actual versus expected images on the Images tab. Be aware that setting the threshold percentage too low, executing the test on a machine with a different resolution or color settings, or executing in a different browser may cause the image verification to fail (even if the images match).
