I just got an update to FF6, and now when I attempt to run Quick Execute from Visual Studio 2010, the browser launches with this in the address bar, but does't go anywhere: about:blank?!!AOT2.0!Pipe.ArtOfTest.WebAii.BrowserProvisioner_492287955.

Is this a result of Firefox 6, or am I missing something else? Tests execute cleanly in both IE and Chrome. Using Telerik Test Studio Express 2011.1 (111.7.12.0) on Windows 7.

Thanks!

Hello Corey,

You are correct; Firefox 6 is not supported on that version of Test Studio. Please update to our latest internal build, version 2011.1.825, which is available for download from your account. It includes support for FF6.

Best wishes,

I'm having the same problem, i.e. the recorded tests do not run (Replay) on Firefox-6 while they run on IE8, Chrome and Safari. The Firefox browser could be launched but the execution is stuck with this line in the address bar:

about:blank?!!AOT2.0!Pipe.ArtOfTest.WebAii.BrowserProvisioner_883388301

I installed the Test Studio 2011.2.928.0 (Trial Version) on my Windows XP, in oder to do some Tool evaluation. I suspect this version will support FF6 since it is newer than the one you mentioned. Unfortunetely, with Test Studio Release-2 I still get this problem. I wunder if this is still an open issue or do I miss a fix?

Thanks !

Hello Junping,

You are correct; Test Studio version 2011.2.928 supports Firefox 6. In fact, I'm currently executing Test Studio tests in FF7 successfully.

I suspect something is wrong with the Telerik Firefox browser extension. Go to Tools > Add-ons and ensure the Telerik Testing Framework - Firefox 4+ Client 2011.1.0.0 extension is installed and enabled (see attached screen shot). Also ensure the Firefox 3 Client is disabled.

If that is in order, it's possible that another Add-on is conflicting with Test Studio. Try disabling all other extensions and executing with Firefox again.

Best wishes,
Anthony

Hi Anthony.
Thanks for your prompt reply. The Telerik extensions in my Firefox are in oder,  i.e. Firefox 4+ Client  is enabled and Firefox 3 Client is disabled. Follow your suggestion, I diactivated all other Firefox extensions except the Telerik Testing Framework - Firefox 4+ Client 2011.1.0.0 , the problem is still there. (see attached snapshots). Any other suggestion?

Best regards,
Junping

Update: I checked my Firefox settings again and made few changes according this instruction http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/user-guide/configure-your-browser/firefox.aspx, now things look a bit better. At least, the Firefox is able to navigate to my test page now. But, after the page is open, the test execution doesn't continue to next step, which is the click on "Login" button.

Hi Junping,

I admit I am puzzled as to why it's not working. I tested Test Studio 2011.2.928 with Firefox 7 (German) on a VM. An HTML and Silverlight test executed successfully on FF.

I see in ticket 465851 with Stoich you're planning a GoToMeeting to address this same issue. Let's continue the troubleshooting there so we don't have a duplication of effort.

All the best,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Yes, let's close this thread since I'll have a GoToMeeting session with Stoich. As I added to my previous post. things are getting better after reconfigure some settings on my Firefox.  I hope the problem will finally be fixed with the direct support of Stoich.

Thanks a lot for your help so far.
Best Regards,
Junping
