I was trying to add a verification step where I check the language on a button
I went to my element library, clicked on the button and then selected Step Builder
My button  is defined as
tagname=button,InnerText=Calculate

I was given a list of verifications which I could choose to use, one of the verifications was the TextContent.  When I looked at the TextContent it was empty.  When I added it to my script the expected string value was empty.

After addiing a verificatiion using Step Builder do you expect users to enter the string or is this a bug?

Thanks

Hello Mark,

I reproduced this issue and believe it to be a bug. You can track the PITS Issue here: Public URL. I have updated your Telerik points accordingly.

Hi Mark,

Let me step in and explain how the Step Builder/Suggestion works.

The Step Suggestions is exactly that -- listing the possible steps one can add according to the specific element. By 'element' however I don't mean the real live element which we get during recording. We don't have the page there and there is no way to extract the exact value. That is why adding step from the Step Suggestions the verifications are empty and you need to fill in their values manually.

I hope that helps.

All the best,
