Hi telerik,

When i am recording a script, i had a step to capture and enter some data in a WebPage dialog which is launched from browser. Recording toolbar is not floating on a webpage dialog, It is still on the main browser. Do i need to do any settings for it and i am using trail version of test studio 2012.1.719.0. Please find the attached SS for reference.

Hi Kalyan,

This actually is expected behavior (the tool bar is not attached to modal popups). We expect recording to work despite this. Are you experiencing other technical problems during recording?

Hi Cody,

It seems like after I connected to WebPageDialog i tried to record some steps by typing text in the text box and it is not recording. But interestingly if i click on any empty space in the dialog or if I click on Create and Cancel buttons in the Dialog it is getting recorded.

one more question, Does the highlighter can be used to capture the elements on Pop-ups and WebPage Dialogues also.?

Hi Kalyan,

Is this a Silverlight application (in your screen shot it looks like it could be)? We have another customer having a similar problem in their Silverlight application. We created a custom build with a fix for this problem. I am sending you an email invite to a private DropBox folder that contains a new installer with this fix included to your uppalapati_kalyan yahoo email address. FYI, this fix will not make it into our R2 release due out this week. In will be included in the next internal build after our R2 release.

Yes, the element highlighting is supposed to work in these modal popup windows.

Hi Cody,

This issue got resolved. Unfortunately I skipped some suggested browser settings to be made after installing telerik. Once I made all these it is working fine.

Thanks for your support.

Hi Kalyan,

This is great to hear, thanks for the update!

I just want to add that with the latest 2012 R2 version of Test Studio
(announced just a few days ago) we automate the configuration of all supported browsers. That means no more cases like this when you have to go through a bunch of settings to configure manually.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
