notification email settings

We are evaluating the scheduling option with Test Studio [2014.2.618.0] to receive the scheduled test run results on defined email address(es).
Here, we are not getting Notification option tab while scheduling a test list.
The scheduling setup done is [ Run Locally ].

We would appreciate your feedback as it will help us in our evaluation positively.

Thank you for contacting us.

To achieve this you can write your own execution extension.

In that extension in OnAfterTestListCompleted method you can implement your code for sending the mails. Once the test list is completed this method is called.

After implementing as you said, we are able to generate notification file when Test List is run manually. But, When we schedule Test List file is not getting generated??

Hello Makarand,

Where do you execute the test list? Do you execute them on a remote machine?

If you execute the test remotely on other machine than scheduling (i.e. machine where the scheduling server is installed)  OnAfterTestListCompleted is not triggered. We have logged a bug report about this.

I have found a very simple workaround on how to trigger OnAfterTestListCompleted method.

Simply create a *.bat file which contains the path to the test list and run this file via Windows Task Scheduler. This will run the test list via ArtOfTestRunner and OnAfterTestListCompleted will be called.

In the video OnAfterTestListCompleted method calls the dialog which appears after the test run.
