Nested Variable Capture

I am using nested tests and I am trying to do an extraction of a value in a sub test and use the extracted value in the calling test. I have even tried using the get and setextractedvalue methods in a coded step. What can I do to accomplish this task?

Please refer to this knowledge base article for specific instructions on how to accomplish your task of passing a variable between tests (see latter half of article for parent to child scenario). I've also attached an additional image which should help illustrate how to assign your extracted variable to a data-bound step.

Not quite sure what I was doing wrong but by following the guide step by step everything is now working.
