Assume I have 5 licences for Test Studio (100 users for each). I need execute tests for 500 users. Assumption is that I use the 5 machines (100 users on each). It can be done manually by execute test for 100 users on the each computer. But if I want manage test from one station, can I use the users from other licences, or I have to by additional VU for specific license? Additional I have to buy four Runtime licences if I want to execute test from one machine (on the other four machines, test will be called)?

Hello Pawel,

You are correct, each license of full Test Studio (not the Runtime license) comes with 100 Virtual Users that can be used in a load test. These users are "stackable", meaning they can be combined. So yes with 5 licenses you have 500 Virtual Users that may be used for a load test.

To use them you should setup one Scheduling Server and at least one Execution Server. These can be the same physical machine or separate machines. You then assign your 500 Virtual Users to the Scheduling Server you just setup.

Now that your scheduling server has all 500 assigned to it you can tell it to run your load test using all 500 virtual users. When it goes to execute, it will automatically evenly distribute the virtual users equally across all available execution servers. If you setup 5 servers, each will get 100. If you setup only 2, each will get 250. You do not have the option of deciding how many virtual users a specific execution server will use.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Cody
