I've setup a number of load tests and have used the 'monitor performance' feature to connect to an external server to be monitored. After installing runtime on the external server, connecting to it and selecting the metrics to monitor, I still do not see the server listed as part of the 'Analyze Results' screen after the tests have completed.

If view the results and attempt to select a server from the 'Select a Computer' drop down, i only see the local computer as an option.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

I finally found some errors that make it seem like it's a network connectivity issue.

Can I get a list of ports to allow on the server to be monitored? As well as ports that should be open on the server running the tests.

I managed to get this to work so I thought I would share the few things I changed in case someone else had the same issue.

Although I was not receiving this particular error, this article was the first place I found that gave firewall rules for specific ports to allow. I made the rule changes as explained (allow 8030-8039)

http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/user-guide/troubleshooting_guide/loadtestingproblems/cannot-dispatch-load-test.aspx

I also changed the 'Monitor Performance' connection to be an ip instead of server name. This shouldn't have made a difference, but it worked afterwards.

Hello Ian,

Please excuse me for the delayed reply.

I am happy to hear you have managed to solve the problem you were experiencing. Yes indeed we require the windows firewall to be disabled or at least the up mentioned ports to be opened, so the scheduling can work properly.
