We currently utilize VMWare virtual images for testing.  We have a few that are "non-persistent".  So the settings we have on the pool will destroy the instance after 4 hours of idle.  So... my question is... If I activate my license on the VM image, leave it for 4+ hours, will I be able to recover the license for use on my own laptop?  Has anyone ever tried this before?  I'd like to figure this out before my license potentially gets locked in space.

Thanks!

Leon

Hello Leon,

Ideally you'd deactivate the license on the virtual image before it's "destroyed." This can be done on the Help tab > View button > Deactivate License.

If you don't get a chance to do that, you can log into your Telerik.com account and click "Manage Test Studio Activation Keys" under the Test Studio section. Here you can deactivate that license to free up a slot.

Kind regards,

Hi Anthony,

So with the new website changes I cannot find the "deactivate" link in my manage products / licenses section.  I noticed there is a manual deactivation page that asks for a key.  Is there documentation on how this process works now?  The deactivate via web was a perfect solution to a lost license on a non-persistent VM box.  Let me know if this option is still available and I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Thanks!

Hello Leon,

I see this issue you're describing. I put in a request to the Web Team to reinstate this feature. In the meantime, let us know if there's a specific key you'd like to remove and we can do it on our side.
