Hello Telerik,
      We are trying to install Test Studio and Run Time Engine on our system. We have installed Test Studio on a virtual machine. We would like to know if the Run Time Engine has to reside on the same system as the Test Studio installation?

Thank you for your question.

Run-Time is actually a stripped down version of TestStudio usually intended to be installed on build servers or scheduling and execution servers. Let me point you to our online documentation regarding the differences between TestStudio and Run-Time. With regards to your question, since TestStudio includes all of the features of Run-Time you would not want both installed on the same system (in fact our installers will not allow you to try to install both). Whether you want Test Studio or Run-Time installed on your VM will depend on its intended use.
