It depends on your definition of "descriptive programming". Can you clarify what you're trying to achieve, what problem you need to solve? Then we'll be able to tell you how to accomplish and/or resolve it.

Descriptive programming is used when we want to perform an operation on an object that is not present in the object repository. Instead of looking to the object repository, the script is based on select id’s that can be used as part of a framework.

What I’m trying to solve, something I do not see in your system, is to validate Grids. The access to Excel is not enough.
