Hi,

I've tried to record a basic WPF test, but when I select the .exe path of the application and click OK I get the following Error :

[...]MyPath\Config does not exit.(it actually says exit and not exist!)

Any idea what this may be? Should I configure something else before recording the WPF test?

Hello Miroslav,

I am sorry to hear about the encountered error during WPF test configuration. I will need you help to investigate it further. Please follow up on the topics below.

  • What is the full path to the WPF application that you have put in the configuration
  • Please take a screenshots of the "Configure WPF Application Path" window and the error message and attach them to your next reply.
  • Clear the Test Studio application log and reproduce the same error. Then, gather the generated log and attach it as .zip file to this thread.
  • Is it possible to provide a sample application that reproduces the same error? That way I will try to reproduce the misbehavior locally and debug it further.

In case you are not comfortable sharing the above requested information in this public forum post, you can open a private support ticket from your www.Telerik.com account and provide the above details there. I will link those together and we can continue our discussion in the ticket.

Thank you for your cooperation in advance!

Hi Plamene,

Thanks for your feedback.

II've checked also with our dev team and it appears that this message is due to the ClickOnce deployment method of the WPF App.

I will try to run the .exe without ClickOnce and then use the Test Studio on it.

Best Regards,

Hi Miroslav,

Thank you for your follow up.

As you mentioned, the application under test uses ClickOnce deployment method and each new instance is installed in a new location. We have guidelines set in place to help you connect to such applications and automate them with Test Studio. The idea is to connect to the application by its process name, after it has been started. Please check out the details in this article.

Of course, if the .exe path without ClickOnce is always the same, you can use it in the configurations of WPF test, as well.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again, if you need further assistance or you have follow up questions. We will be more than happy to help.
