I’m evaluating Test Studio to check if it is the right testing tool for my company.
Last Friday I made a test case against our corporative web application, and it worked properly after running in IE and Firefox. I had the 928 build of Test Studio. To check another problem (in other thread of this phorum) I installed the latest build (1103). After this my test case is not working anymore:
In one of the steps a text is set; I had to put SimulateRealTyping to make it work. Now with this new version the text is not set. I have tried changing some of the parameters, but it does not work.
I have come back to the 928 and got the backup of the project, and it works again.
My question is, is this 1103 an stable version? In the future if we acquire Test Studio and we install a new version could we have these kind of problems when updating the product?

Unfortunately we accidentally introduced a regression into our 2011.2.1103 build specifically on Set Text with SimulateRealTyping set to true. We quickly found and fixed this regression. The fix has been included in the new internal build, 2011.2.1107 that we released today. You can download this from your account just like you did the 1103 build. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this problem. There are a few possible causes of this problem. The first that comes to mind is that for some reason we're not finding and selecting the right field that is supposed to be typed into. We need to be able to see and study this problem first hand to be able to figure out why it's not working as expected.
Could you please provide a link to a publicly accessible page that exhibits this issue. This might be a page you find on the Net or an example you've put together and exposed yourself. If this is not possible then could you please provide the Html Code for this section of your application.

I'm experiencing the same problem. After upgrade from version 928 to 1117, my test cases are not working any more. I tried to deinstall the old version and install the new version, still the same problem. The new recorded test case can be executed successfully. I wonder whether the record and replay must use the same version? Beside, in one case I noticed that with version 1117 the typed text was not really written into element property. The "Recorded Text Content" is just empty, and in another cases it is ok. Please see attached snapshots. Any suggestion?

I'm sorry you are running into this problem.
I have tried to reproduce this problem locally, but so far have been unable to. I have created a virtual machine with Test Studio version 928. I have recorded some tests very similar to yours in which I'm typing some text into a login form fields(username and password). When I copy these tests on my machine and update them to 2011.2.1117 they are still running as expected and the Recorded Text Content is still there.
When converting the project to be compatible with a newer version, Test Studio creates a backup copy of the files before the conversion. You will find the backup in a Backup folder of the test project (see screenshot). Please try to copy this folder in a different location and to convert the project again. If the issue appear again please send us the content of this Backup folder(into a zip file), so we can make this conversion locally and reproduce the problem.
