We have added an option to compare traffic directly in Fiddler Everywhere – you can see the difference between two requests or whole sets of requests and determine problematic sessions quickly. You can select one or multiple sessions and add them to Group 1 or Group 2 for comparison. You can also choose sessions from different sources and compare requests from both the Live Traffic grid as well as Saved/Shared sessions.
We have improved the Overview tab in Fiddler Everywhere by adding the following options:
Display of full URL of selected session or sessions on hover – you can view and copy the full URL or just parts of it
Showcasing the total sizes and timings for selected request or requests
We have further improved Fiddler Everywhere’s Comparing Traffic functionality by providing you the option to compare multiple sessions in groups. Up until now, you could select and compare only two sessions from the Live Traffic grid. With the latest release, you can select multiple sessions and add them to Group 1 or Group 2 for comparison. This way, you can compare whole sets of sessions, as well as pick one from each group and compare them individually.
In the Rule Builder and the Advanced Filters, we now have support for autocompletion when setting your conditions. The app will suggest the sessions that you want to match based on the keywords you’re typing in the text fields and your Live Traffic captures.
We have extended the functionality for Server Certificate Data by adding a Certificate Information condition in the Rule Builder and in the Advanced Filters. This allows you to match sessions by any of their certificate’s properties such as Issue Date, Signature, Serial Number, Validity, Expiration Date, and more.
This functionality allows you to set a counter to a rule to be executed only specific number of times instead of having it working or non-working the whole time. After reaching the counter limit you have chosen, the rule will automatically be disabled. Through this option you can create complex testing scenarios based on your workflow.
We are adding an option to compare sessions from the Live Traffic or from your Saved Sessions directly in Fiddler Everywhere – this is part of the bigger Compare Traffic feature and is currently in Beta. You can select two-session rows and choose to Compare from the contextual menu, which allows you to see the difference between two requests and determine why one is failing while the other is succeeding.
We have added this option to provide greater convenience and better user experience when working with Fiddler Everywhere. You can now collapse and expand the left panel to create more space when needed.
The comparison of sessions works with sessions from the Live Traffic grid and now also with Saved/Shared sessions which are available in the left panel in Fiddler Everywhere. Choose a saved session and right-click to compare, then select another saved session from the dropdown in the UI. You can specify between the primary and the secondary snapshot session and quickly click to compare.
You can now change the matching of text in conditions from case-insensitive to case-sensitive through the Aa button available. This feature is available in both the Rules and the Advanced Filters and allows for easier conditions setup and matching flow.
