I use "getWindowBounds" to determine height of a radWindow in "On ClientCommand" event. The problem is that this returns the original size of "radWindow" but no the maximized one also on "Restore" I have the size before "Maximize". How can I get the read height?

Hello everybody!

I have a radtreeview with loadondemand (Serversidecallback).

I have implemented a javascript method that refreshed a node:
function RefreshNode(nodeId2Refresh)
        {
            var treeView = $find('<%= radpanel.Items[0].Items[0].FindControl("rree").ClientID%>');
            var node = treeView.findNodeByValue(nodeId2Refresh).get_parent();

            treeView.trackChanges();
            node.get_nodes().clear();
            node.set_expanded(false);
            treeView.commitChanges();

            node.set_expandMode(Telerik.Web.UI.TreeNodeExpandMode.ServerSideCallBack);
            node.expand();
        }

How can I refresh the root nodes this way??
any suggestions?
of course the root element have no parent!

Thx in advance & kind regards

I am trying to implement something very similar to this article:
http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet/ajax/?ajxShowLoadingPanelOnInitialPageLoad.html

The Ajax Request DOES reach the server (I put a break point which gets a hit everytime the page is loaded). But for some reason, the content of Panel2 does not show on the page. The content however is shown when I initially set the visible property of Panel2 to "true" (in aspx page)

I am using Prometeus controls in ASP.NET 3.5. Here is my page and its master page:

Master Page:

<form id="form1" runat="server">
<telerik:RadSplitter ID="RadSplitter1" runat="server" Width="100%" Height="600" FullScreenMode="true">

<telerik:RadPane id="LeftPane" runat="server" width="22" scrolling="none">
<telerik:RadSlidingZone id="SlidingZone1" runat="server" DockedPaneId="LeftSlidingPane" width="22">
 <telerik:RadSlidingPane id="LeftSlidingPane" title="Menu" runat="server" width="180" >
 <table>
 <tr> <td> Menu goes here</td> </tr>
 </table>
 </telerik:RadSlidingPane>
</telerik:RadSlidingZone>
</telerik:RadPane>

<telerik:RadPane id="MiddlePane" runat="server" Scrolling="Both" Height="600">

<table style="width:100%">
 <tr>   <td>Header Info userControl</td> </tr>
 <tr>  <td><asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="MainContent" runat="Server" /></td> </tr>
 </table>

</telerik:RadPane>
 </telerik:RadSplitter>

<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager>
</form>

Main Page (ASPX):

<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" Runat="Server">

<script type="text/javascript">
window.onload =
function()
{
setTimeout(
 function(){
 window["<%= RadAjaxManager1.ClientID %>"].AjaxRequest("InitialPageLoad");
 }, 200);
}
</script>

<telerik:RadAjaxManager ID="RadAjaxManager1" runat="server">
<AjaxSettings>
 <telerik:AjaxSetting AjaxControlID="radAjaxManager1">
 <UpdatedControls>
 <telerik:AjaxUpdatedControl ControlID="TabPanel" LoadingPanelID="AjaxLoadingPanel1" />
 </UpdatedControls>
 </telerik:AjaxSetting>
</AjaxSettings>
</telerik:RadAjaxManager>

few user controls go here <br />

<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="POSTBACK" />

<asp:Panel ID="TabPanel" runat="server">
 <asp:Panel ID="Panel2" Visible="false" runat="server">
 THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE AFTER THE "InitialPageLoad" AJAX REQUEST
 </asp:Panel>
</asp:Panel>

<telerik:RadAjaxLoadingPanel ID="RadAjaxLoadingPanel1" runat="server" Height="75px" Width="75px">
 <img alt="Loading..." src='<%= RadAjaxLoadingPanel.GetWebResourceUrl(Page, "Telerik.Web.UI.Skins.Default.Ajax.loading.gif") %>' style="border: 0px;" />
</telerik:RadAjaxLoadingPanel>
</asp:Content>

Main page code behind:

Protected Sub RadAjaxManager1_AjaxRequest(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As Telerik.Web.UI.AjaxRequestEventArgs) Handles RadAjaxManager1.AjaxRequest
If e.Argument = "InitialPageLoad" Then
 'simulate longer page load
 System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(2000)
 Panel2.Visible = True
End If
End Sub

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Marco

Hi,

I downloaded RadControls_Q3_2007_SP2_trial.exe. I would like to integrate the RadEditor into Sharepoint. But reading the MOSS_whitepaper.pdf gave me no idea how to integrate  the Fullversion. I always come to Links where I understand integrating into sharepoint is only possible with the Liteversion?

Best regards

I asked this before, and Telerik assured me RadAjaxManager works with container controls such as ASP:Panel.  I wasted almost 2 development days trying to figure out why some of my controls were not doing Ajax calls.  I did a simple test and found two things are broken with RadAjaxManager.

ASPX Page:
    <telerik:RadScriptManager runat="server">
    </telerik:RadScriptManager>
    <telerik:RadAjaxManager ID="RadAjaxManager1" runat="server">
    </telerik:RadAjaxManager>
    <asp:Button runat="server" ID="btnOutside" Text="Outside Panel" />
    <asp:Panel runat="server" ID="pnlOne">
        <asp:Button runat="server" ID="btnInside" Text="Inside Panel" />
    </asp:Panel>
    <asp:Panel runat="server" ID="pnlTwo">
        <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lbl"></asp:Label>
    </asp:Panel>

Code Behind:
    Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
        Me.RadAjaxManager1.AjaxSettings.AddAjaxSetting(Me.pnlOne, Me.lbl)
        Me.RadAjaxManager1.AjaxSettings.AddAjaxSetting(Me.btnOutside, Me.lbl)
    End Sub

    Private Sub btnInside_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnInside.Click
        Me.lbl.Text = "btnInside"
    End Sub

    Private Sub btnOutside_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnOutside.Click
        Me.lbl.Text = "btnOutside"
    End Sub

In the above example, clicking either btnInside or btnOutside will do a regular postback instead of Ajax callback.  However, if I change the order the ajax setting is added, btnOutside will do an Ajax callback but btnInside will still do a regular postback.

    Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
        Me.RadAjaxManager1.AjaxSettings.AddAjaxSetting(Me.btnOutside, Me.lbl)
        Me.RadAjaxManager1.AjaxSettings.AddAjaxSetting(Me.pnlOne, Me.lbl)
    End Sub

This is a very simple example, and I actually spent a very long time debugging my fairly complex page.  Note that I have to set my AjaxSetting programmatically because of the structure of a BasePage and a BaseMasterPage in my web framework.

To recap:
1.  RadAjaxManager does not work with container controls
2.  The order AjaxSettings are added programmatically can break other AjaxSettings.

So now, how do I know what's the correct order AjaxSettings are supposed to be added?  If I have a panel with 10 controls that will postback and update a label in another panel, do I have to create 10 different AjaxSettings to accomplish this?

Hi,

  We have a publishing site using RadEditor as editor field controls. Previously on version 4.3.2, we are able to set the RadEditor's Image Manager to load the current sub site's PublishingImages folder and the root site's SiteCollectionImages folder (at least working for administrator ). After upgrade to the latest version 4.5.0, the Image Manager always load the PublishingImages folder from the root site instead of the current sub site. We've tried to remove the whole ImagesPaths property from the config.xml, but the same result returns. The Image Manager is able to load the correct PublishingImages folder if we state the relative URL to the list in the property, but it's not a feasible solution as our client requires the Images to be store in their own sub sites (about 500 sub sites).

    Any solution / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards.
Ji Kai

Hello,

I'm thinking this is something simple to do, but I can't find the answer:

I have a grid with grouping in it.  The default behavior is for all of the groups to be expanded.  I wish to make it so that the groups are collapsed by default.  What is the best way to do this?

Thanks,
Stephen

I'm handling Ajax timeouts.  Is there a way to suppress the alert that pops up?  (Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerTimeoutException: The server request timed out.)

Hi,

Telerik Prometheus seems to be one of the few (if not only) 'UI Suite' products out there that does not have a 'button' control with it.

This means that no matter the amount of skinning applied, we're still looking at either 'default Windows skin' look buttons or 'classic Windows' look buttons, which does not exactly fit in with the rest of the skinned page.

Is there any way to apply one of the CSS styles of one of the Prometheus controls to a standard ASP.NET button and make it look like, say, the root-level RadMenu 'button'?

Also, we are also experiencing that the scroll bars in Prometheus controls are not skinning (while we see screen shots on this website that DO have them skinned).

We run classic Windows look under XP on our development machines, our customers usually run in super-ugly XP blue/olive/silver (at resolutions that would make your eyes fall out), you know, the usual 'idiot' end-user stuff.

At this point it seems not possible to get a consistent 'skin' going for a web site in our environment, and that is a definite issue for us and our customers. After all, a completely skinned and pretty website is great, until you encounter unskinned buttons and scroll bars all over the place.

It seems odd that there is no 'button control' in Prometheus to us tho. The scroll bars issue is probably related to us entirely turning off any theming XP can do.

Thanks,

Mike

I had installed your Silverlight tools first, did up some examples, then a couple days later I installed ASP.Net version followed by the Prometheus version.  I had no problems with the Silverlight version or samples.

After installing the other packages I could not get any of the examples to run and worse the examples that I had had working FAILED on the morning of my demo (of course).  Makes it hard to justify 3 programmer licenses.

Failing code tests/demo's:
1 Treeview Promethous AJAXEnabledWebSite.zip
2 078228_TreeView_ShowLoadingMessage_WEB.UI.zip

The primary error is:
   Control cannot be created because Visual Studio cannot find the control's type in the control assembly.

which leads to:
   ERR: Error extracting manifest import from file (hr = 0x80131018).
   <!--
   <%@ Register Assembly="Telerik.Web.UI" Namespace="Telerik.Web.UI" TagPrefix="telerik" %>
   -->

On that problem child Telerik.Web.UI  which leads to other Controls failing.

  057862_WebSite82.zip demo is a little different - started with same errors, dragged and dropped replacements into bin and thing worked.  Of course it doesn't have that pesky bad boy Telerik.Web.UI version 2007.3.1425.20

Now I have tried all combinations of correction that I could find in your Knowledge base and Forums and general fixes from the internet.  So, in desperation I replaced the Telerik.Web.UI that came in the Treeview demo with the smaller version from the Silverlight Bin.

The treeview worked first crack out of the box - except for the tooltips & pictures; but I did get a treeview into a browser.  I am about to buy these Controls, but if I am going to have to spend 2 or 3 days getting each control to tenuously work each time I open the project, well you can guess.

Other notes, I used a couple tools from VS2005Pro and even though I believe there is a manifest none of the tools see it.  Maybe something is malformed or corrupt.

The ASP.Net & Promethious DLL's just don't seem to Register.

Why does the Silverlight version work (mostly) and the others not?  I need a reliable and consistent fix for this problem.  I am already behind on time and I like your tool set.  But I simply can't spend this kind of time debugging the product.

Windows XP Pro SP2 v2002; Visual Studio 2005 Pro; ASP.Net 2.0 AJAX 1.0; all updates current; Java current;

REPEAT ALL PROBLEMS ON REBOOT/RESTART.  I need to get a permanent stable Fix or at least a quicker fix.
