Can I export a different dataset to Excel?

We have a RadGrid that we use for search results, which we limit to the first 100 hits based on the criteria. We do this because we want to limit the load on the database, and it encourages our users to narrow down the results by adding more search criteria. However, we'd like to be able to export the entire dataset to Excel. Is there a way to run a new query when the export button is clicked and export the resulting dataset?

The way we limit the results is by adding a parameter to the stored procedure that indicates if it's a "QuickSearch" or not. If not, all records are returned. So I should be able to run the same search parameters, but change the QuickSearch to false, and that would return the entire dataset (up to 1000 records). That's what I would like to export. Is this possible? Or is there a way to set up the RadGrid paging so that it only retrieves 100 records at a time?

How to skin TabStripStates.gif file?

Hi,

I want to have different skins to my tabs with custom states (over, down, etc.). I should change the skin file TabStripStates.gif to do that.

But It's appear that the image file modification is different from the last method (with classic TabStrip Control) but I can't find documentation to do the new image file modifications.

States appear to be all in the same image (.gif).

In the new documentation (with ajax TabStripControl), customise image file (TabStripStates.gif) is not explain.

Is there an easy way to change this file (in Photoshop) to correspond to my design like your last tutorial.

RadPanelBar in a NestedViewTemplate?

I would like to create a custom detail view, revealed by ExpandCollapse Expand and hidden by Collapse. In particular, I was trying to use a RadPanelBar to display several detail sections with the flexibility to open/close the detail sections.

Immediately inside my <NestedViewTemplate>, I can write

<%# Eval("something") %>

which evaluates into the value of the 'something' property for the selected row -- this works as expected.

Also nested inside my <NestedViewTemplate> I include a <telerik:RadPanelBar> and its associated <Items> and <telerik:RadPanelItem>. Inside one <ItemTemplate>, I want to output some <%# Eval("something") %>. However, they are always blank/empty at this point.

What am I missing?

Toolbar Drop Down doesn't fully load when ajaxified in user control.

Hi there my last thread got corrupted some how so I'm starting a new one with the same Title.

I tried the latest hotfix and it fixes the Table Insert drop down but the OnHover for the Zoom and Paragraph tools are still loosing their styles. For a recap I'm using latest RadEditor inside an ajaxified RadGrid's usercontrol. The styles don't load properly when Ajax is turned on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The problem should be fixed in the latest in-house build of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX which you can download the hotfix from here.

Hi there I'm using a simple UserControl with a RadEditor and a RadGrid that edits and adds via the user control. The grid is contained by an Ajaxified <Div> that is set in my AjaxManager. When I click add or edit and fire Ajax Requests to enter Edit Mode the editors Toolbar dropdown for <tool name="Zoom"> and <tool name="FormatBlock"> never fully load.

When I turn Ajax off it works fine but I need the Grid to be Ajaxified. is there any way to exclude the RadEditor once its in side the <div> or some other way of turning off Ajax just for the Editor.

Radgrid to pdf issues

An issue I am dealing with with RadGrid Ajax ExporttoPDF()

When exporting to pdf, footer is not displaying.

Also, caption is not displaying oin pdf...

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Error when tyring to use scrolling

This is my first attempt at using the chart. It works fine until I set the ChartClientScrollMode to anything other than "None". The error I get is

Edited to add: My Chart dll says it's version: 2.0.1.0 - when I first started using the chart I got an error message and it said to add this to my web config:

New Version

Hi,

I started testing RadEditor version 4.5. There I made some modifications on the dialogs. Now I bought the RadControls. This package includes the new Editor version 5.0. and I wanted to make the same modifications on following files:

ICE_RadEditorHelp.ascx
DocumentManager.ascx
ImageManager.ascx
FileBrowser.ascx

But in this version I do not find the folders dialogs etc. Isn't it possible to modify them? Or do I have to search in a different place? Thanks for helping.

Default field in Hyperlink Manager

Is there any way to change the default field (the field that has focus) in the Hyperlink Manager? I'd like to be able to have the URL field have focus and automatically select the contents so that users can simply type/paste a URL and press OK instead of having to click the URL field and select the contents before typing/pasting.
