Introduction Welcome back everyone to this week’s installment of XAMLFlix for Silverlight and WPF. We are going to quickly get you up to speed with RadImageEditor. If you are not familiar with XAMLFlix, then don’t worry – it is simply Telerik’s way to teach you how to use new and existing controls in short 10-minute videos. Let’s go ahead and get started. What is RadImageEditor? RadImageEditor is used to process images in Silverlight/WPF applications with no dependencies on external APIs. It supports various image processing tools and effects like resize, contrast, brightness, hue and saturation adjustments. Silverlight effects are used to execute heavy operations...
As Q2 is just around the corner we would like to give you a glimpse of the newest member of our suite – RadChartView. The new chart control comes to address some of the limitations and deficiencies that we have identified in the RadChart implementation over the years - it allows you to visualize interactive, rich, animated charts and enables the end users to analyze complex data. RadChartView will be shipped with a set of pre-defined palettes and what is more, you will be able to edit the style in Visual Style Builder which will enable you to achieve endless custom...

We’re happy to announce that Service Pack 1 for our R1 release of Test Studio 2012 is now live and ready for download. The team did a great amount of work for this release, nearly all of it behind the scenes. (You can read through the release notes here.) Some of the big wins for this release (from my view!) include: Stabilized handling of file download dialogs during recording and playback Fixed a number of other dialog handling issues (the frequent updates to browsers are as challenging for us as for folks developing web applications!) Added a number of ...
Stop me if you’ve seen or experienced this before: a chaotic project environment is leaving your team missing critical ideas from customers or stakeholders. You’re unable to get good discussions around what you want to build, how you want to build it, and how you’re planning on testing it. You can’t keep an eye on the status of your automated tests – oh, wait. You don’t have time to write them, much less track their status, and how those tests tie to the particular features you’re building and maintaining. Let’s not even bring up bug tracking, shall we? I’ve been ...

We constantly improve Telerik’s ASP.NET AJAX Editor control with new features requested by our clients. In the Q2 2012 beta release we added a sneak peek of its new Track Changes functionality. It resembles the idea of track changes in MS Word®, so I suppose all of you know what it is and how it behaves. Still, let’s take a look at how you can put it to good use. How it looks For those of you who are not familiar with this - any change in the content area (inserting, pasting, deleting or applying formatting to the content) is tracked. Content that is...
This week on XAMLFlix we’re looking at RadTimeBar for Silverlight and WPF. XAMLflix is a Telerik production, designed to teach you how to use and get the most out of new new and existing controls in Telerik’s XAML suite. Every Tuesday and Thursday we have new videos; every Wednesday we have a new written tutorial. Since the Telerik Silverlight and WPF controls share a common codebase and API, you only have to learn how to use them once! In this video we show how to work with RadTimeBar in Silverlight, but the downloadable code demonstrates clearly that the same code works perfectly...
Q2 2012 is coming close, so we decided that it’s time to gear you up for all the great goodies that are on their way. Today, we are going to show off one highly requested control in our Public Issue Tracker. As we are the first component vendor to introduce such a control in our WinForms suite and there are no established standards, we had some doubts about the name of the control. However, this is now out of question and here it is: RadAutoCompleteBox. So, what exactly is RadAutoCompleteBox? RadAutoCompleteBox allows you to easily fill-in tokens of text in a...
