One of the recurring topics that I’ve been talking about ad nausium is the “boxology” diagram of the Windows 8 Platform and Tools (shown here). Now let me tell you, I have drawn a lot of these “marketecture” diagrams in my time and its not easy. These kind of diagrams are never technically accurate. The countdown to BUILD!
Next week is the much-anticipated BUILD developer conference about the future of development on the Windows platform, and the public unveiling of Windows 8. Microsoft says that Windows 95 changed the PC and Windows 8 will “change everything.” Clearly, the hyperbole and hype are already running high. The conference has been under such secrecy that we have been told all phone conversations at Microsoft are being recorded to prevent leaks. RadJumpList for Windows Phone extended: Support for Sticky Header
Besides inheriting all performance improvements coming from RadDataBoundListBox RadJumpList further extends its functionality in our latest Mango Build with Sticky Header support. A sticky header is nothing more but a group header that is statically positioned at the top edge of RadJumpList’s viewport displaying the currently focused data group –just like in the revamped phonebook in Windows Phone Mango. This new functionality brings some small API extensions. There are now two new properties exposed by RadJumpList: IsStickyHeaderEnabled StickyHeaderTemplate The IsStickyHeaderEnabled property determines whether a sticky header is shown or not. Introducing RadMessageBox for WP7
We are happy to announce an intermediate release with which we officially declare that RadControls for Windows Phone now support Mango. This release includes a few improvements to the control suite, the most important of which is of course our updated list box that still performs better than the default, framework list box.
