Tweaking the Theme colors for Telerik Silverlight Controls

Its been a while since my last blog post. But this is all for good. It was a busy month for the Telerik Silverlight Team. We did a couple of public releases in the last few weeks. Our last release was yesterday - if you still haven't saw it - do this now - we shipped the missing "5th element" of the suite - the GridView control for Silverlight. Our next release will be in the middle of December when we will release our next essential control - the Docking Manager for Silverlight. Now back on the topic. One of the major improvements in latest release...

Silverlight session recordings not to miss from the PDC

For those of us who were not lucky enough to go to the PDC this week, Microsoft published all the video recordings online at the Channel9 website. If you have been there you should have seen the Telerik booth and some of my colleagues - we were once again the gold sponsor of the conference. There are eleven sessions for Silverlight - see them all here: http://channel9.msdn.com/tags/pdc2008.silverlight/ If you don't have the time to watch them all - here is my Top3 recommended list: Microsoft Silverlight Futures: Building Business Focused Applications Jamie Cool talks about the future releases of Silverlight components focused entirely on the LOB scenarios. You...

RadControls for Silverlight 2 - RTW update

Today Microsoft released Silverlight2 RTW. See more info on this here. The update is now available for download from your client.net account.   With this update, we expanded the suite with two bright new controls - RadContextMenu and RadCoverFlow, and we added support for custom Themes!   There are also a couple of new examples: RadTreeView > Checked Nodes RadTreeView > Expand Mode RadTreeView > Lines Support RadTreeView > HtmlApi RadTreeView > Themes RadTabControl > Drag Over Tab RadTabControl > Drag Reorder RadUpload > ImageGallery sample RadUpload > Events RadUpload > Working with Custom Parameters   In the following days we will upload several...

Context Menu for Silverlight. Integration with RadTreeView

Here at Telerik we are cooking a lot of things with Silverlight. You will see some great new (and big!) controls with our Q3 release that is already knocking on the door. One small, but very popular thing, that is missing in Silverlight2 these days is the Context Menu support. As we got this working already internally, I thought that I'll share the good news with you :) This image above shows the integration between the new RadContextMenu and RadTreeView. As you can see you have full control over the context menu content, and you can also control the shortcut keys that will open the menu. So, any comments about that?  ...

    Loading Images in Silverlight2 Applications

One question we receive very often from our customers, is how to load an image, from different relative folders in Silverlight. This is a little bit tricky and it is different from the way it is working in HTML. I found this great article, from the Katrien's MSDN blog, about all the possible scenarios that you may have. Here is the reference: http://blogs.msdn.com/katriend/archive/2008/04/27/different-ways-for-loading-images-and-files-in-silverlight-2-applications.aspx   Enjoy!...
