upgrade probs with GetRadWindowManager()

Hello

I have been tasked with upgrading all the telerik controls on our project to the new prometheus ones..
So far it is mostly going smoothly but I am having problems with the rad windows.
Everywhere I have "GetRadWindowsManager()" it has stopped working. This is always returning null.

I have read the post here,

that is having a similar problem, and have tried adding Sys.Application.add_load(
around some of the calls to the window I am trying to open, but it still doesn't work.

One example of where it is used..

The open window JS function:

win.SetUrl("/orderDetailPreview.aspx?ID=" + ID, "Order Details");
win.Show();
}

and within a radgrid is

</Telerik:GridTemplateColumn>

This method is used on numerous pages throughout our project so alot of things are now broken..

Please can you advise how I initilize the GetRadWindowManager() function so it will work..

[Solved] Adding ToolTipTargetControl via JavaScript

Hi,

Using RadToolTip v2008.1.515.20, I'm trying to add a ToolTipTargetControl via Javascript in the RadToolTipManager object to achieve the same result as this:

Issue with Dialog Boxes in Telerik Skin

When using the Telerik skin, the Set Image Properties dialog box is not properly drawn. In particular, it does not have OK and Cancel buttons. The Image manage dialog box is goofy too. I was using this skin in the pre-Ajax version without any issues.

hierarchical dynamic databinding

Hi,

I have a problem finding a solid reusable method to create multilevel hierarchical databinding with ajax radgrid that also allow editing.

All the datasources are built using codesmidth. The solution is a product im continuing for a customer, why the structure with codesmith generation and telerik is fixed.

CodeSmidth builds hierarchical objectdatasources and telerik builds hierarchical grids, but they are not compatible, unfortunately.

So I need to create a codesmidth dynamic bidir datasource and assign this in the needdatasource events, for instance when an expand is clicked. But, but, the arguments for the needdatasource events is quite poor with information, since i cannot determine which level of detailtable is being opened.

Another try was to assign a datasource to the detailtable in the detailtabledatabind event, but here i get the exception "object reference not set..." when it reaches the GetCollectionItemType in the grid.

What can I do ?

Any help is appreciated.

NodeClick issue

I have the nodeclick event wired to open a file once clicked. This part works great. The problem occurs once they've closed the file, if the users next action causes a postback the nodeclick event gets fired again and they're asked if they want to open the file again. I've tried setting the clickednode.selected = false as well as number of other things and none of them seem to work in getting the page to quit going back through the nodeclick event. Please let me know what i need to do. Thanks

Selective adding columns to RadGrid from sqlDataSource

My sqlDataSource can have most different SQL select statement when clicks come from a panelbar. Hw and where do i monitor and add the columns that are assigned to my RadGrid and what are the setting of my RadGrid. Do i need AutoGenerateColumns or not.

RadDatePicker doesn't display drop down calendar

Hello,

I need help displaying the dropdown calendar of the RadDatePicker. I dragged and dropped it into a form as usual, but the calendar dropdown doesn't display in IE 7 or Firefox.

I wonder if there are special folders (Skin etc) that I need to add to the project in order to get the RadDatePicker to behave correctly. This is my first time using the Prometheus Rad Controls on a fresh project (not an upgrade). I was wondering if there are any special initial setups that are necessary. This is because I also noticed that the Hay skin of the RadPanelBar doesn't display the green theme in my new project.

I installed the controls using the installer and the controls were successfully installed in the Visual Studio 2005 toolbox.

Any pointer in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

RADMenu MasterPages & CSS

Hi,

I have a very bizarre problem, which I am hoping someone may have some idea in solving...

I have a application which uses masterpages, on the masterpage is a RADmenu which is connected to a SQL database. I have created a CSS file which controls the width of the radmenu.

The formatting works if the menu is in the content section, but does not work in masterpage. I have found that if you place the stylesheet in the contentpage like this...

it works, but this is a real pain as it requires me to add this to every page, which sort of destroys the whole point of masterpages. My understanding is that the page is rendered backwards starting from the contentpage and working out to the masterpage. What is confusing me is that other elements on the masterpage are formatting correctly, its just the menu, is this a bug or am I being stupid (probably the later :o) ).

Javascript and telerik

I have been using telerik for a while and today while doing some QA on a page with my team I had a profound moment when I looked at my modal/page loading in firebug.

I have a simple page that uses 3 sections in a splitter, 4 tabs in the tab control and 1 editor no tools just spellcheck and I have to load all this.

Am I missing something or is this more js than you ever thought you would need to pull something like this off.

It would be great if someone would post back and tell me to make sure and click the property that says "not really as much js" but I have a feeling that is not going to happen. I dont mean for this to be a blog but I am curious of the community feedback on the general topic and my scenario.
