[Solved] NestedViewTemplate and Data Binding

I'm using a NestedViewTemplate within the RadGrid in order to display a customized detail view of a row when the expand button is clicked. The NestedViewTemplate contains another RadGrid and several other controls.

Everything is working fine, but I noticed that every row's NestedViewTemplate (and its child controls) seems to get data bound every time the page is loaded or the parent grid's columns are sorted, etc. That seems to be unnecessarily slowing down the performance of the main RadGrid.

Is there a way to delay the data bind of controls within in the NestedViewTemplate (or the template itself) until the template is actually expanded and visible?

context menu (Q1 SP2) crashes Safari

Hey, your context menu on the latest Service Pack crashes Safari. You can see this on one of your demos:

I've tried this on both Mac and PC.

RadCombo with embedded Radiobuttons issue

Hello All,

Just started playing around with the controls and they are great! I'm having one small issue where I have a radcombo box with radiobuttons.

If I select an item in the combo box under firefox it works fine. If I select an item under IE it does not work. Autopostback is set to true. And I have the RadAjaxmanger enabled for the combo box.

Any ideas?

Adding a Telerik drop down dynamically to a Telerik grid

Hi,

I need to add a Telerik drop down to a Telerik grid at run time. How do I do this in C#?

I am populating my grid like this, it has 3 columns:

dt.Columns.Add(new DataColumn("Client"));
dt.Columns.Add(new DataColumn("Invoice No"));
dt.Columns.Add(new DataColumn("Action"));

I populate my rows like this (only for test puposes for now):

dt.Rows.Add(new object[] { "12345", "123" });
dt.Rows.Add(new object[] { "23456", "234" });

As you will see it only adds for column 1 and 2. Column 3 needs a Telerik drop down. How do I add it dynamically?

Scollable Grid Changes Column Widths

Hi,

I used this:

Migration from RadEditor Classic to RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX - Backward compatibility

Hi there,

We are planning a migration to ASP.NET AJAX. I understand from the documentation that the Custom Colors have been removed. We use this functionally on a major scale. Is there a hack around it?

Also are there any known differences in how the HTML is rendered in view mode? So if we were to migrate, do we have to worry about some of our content looking out of place?

ValueFormat of ChartDataTable

Is there a way to specify the ValueFormat of the RadChart.PlotArea.DataTable? ValueFormat is not a valid property under Appearance as it is with X-Axis/Y-Axis, and the format does not propogate down.

User controls in radgrid

Hi,

I have few custom ascx dropdown which I need to include as a column. I have populated the dropdown in the Load event of the control. I have used EditItemTemplate to add these controls to the columns.

The problem is that after I select a value from dropdown and click Update, it posts back the page and the radgrid gets created from scratch (As I am using dynamic creation of grid). The template is again fired and the controls are newly created. This erases the value from the dropdown.

Is this the right approach to add custom controls in grid or else I can use ItemDataBound event to create the controls?

Header background bug on StaticHeader with checkbox column

I just upgraded from Prometheus and I noticed a slight GUI bug
The grid is set to static header with Skin Office2007. The header background on top of the scrollbar is shorter, showing ugly white background. I noticed that switching to skin Default and other skins with the same height as default, it rendered just fine. And if I remove the checkbox column, its also correct.
