We’re excited to share more about our updates to Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX in our most recent release.
Hey developer folks, it’s time for another release with new UI components, features and tooling for your ASP.NET AJAX applications. The Telerik R2 2021 release brings new Switch component, multiple Gantt enhancements such as Planned vs Actual, support for multiple templates for custom content rendering, online technical training available for both active trials and license holders and more.
Read the dedicated release blog post ahead and find out more about the new Telerik web forms UI components.
The Switch UI component for ASP.NET AJAX allows users to toggle between checked and unchecked states. Originally coming from performing a toggle of settings on mobile devices, it has become the de facto standard for all types of applications.
The Switch component can be easily customized via CSS including layouts (such as Square, Fluid and Elastic), backgrounds and icons. It also exposes events, rich client-side API, 20+ prebuilt skin design options, RTL support, and built-in keyboard navigation and accessibility.

Using the built-in Planned vs Actual feature of the UI for ASP.NET AJAX Gantt, users can easily compare planned task time versus actual execution time. The comparison of actual time against its initial baseline happens with a switch of a button and provides visual clue if a task is ahead of schedule, on time or being delayed.

In R2 2021 we added multiple templating options to customize the Gantt web forms component content—Column & Column Header, View Header, Toolbar and Task Tooltip Templates. You have full flexibility over what can be rendered—text, images, icons or components.

With the current release, we added several components to the Telerik Sass Theme Builder—PivotGrid, MultiColumnComboBox, MultiSelect, Drawer, Chat, PdfViewer and more to help you elevate your custom skin designs.

The R2 2021 release brings something new and to those of you who are using Telerik Document Processing within their ASP.NET AJAX apps. In the latest distribution package you will find Telerik.Documents.Flow.FormatProviders.Doc NuGet that will allow you to import .doc file format, and then manipulate, convert and export it to any of the other supported format providers.
Along with adding new web form UI components and features, we also revamped one of the favorite places that developers love hanging out—the Telerik Forums. Check out the complete story of why and what in the dedicated blog post.
